On this private, half-day tour, discover why the Emilia-Romagna region is world-famous amongst food lovers. Follow your guide to a dairy where Parmigiano Reggiano is produced, learn how the “king of cheese” is made, and enjoy samples. You’ll also do plenty of tasting when you visit a Prosciutto di Parma producer. In between, pause for sightseeing in the medieval village of Torrechiara, famed for its enormous castle.
What to Expect
Your full immersion in the "Italian Food Valley" will start with a visit to an authentic cheese dairy of Parmigiano-Reggiano with tasting.
Discover how "the King of all cheeses" has been made in the same way since the Monks invented it centuries ago... You'll see first hand its making, the salt pools and the "wheel cathedrals", real walls of cheese up to 20.000 in the same place!.. Tasting at the end of the visit.
After that, the experience will proceed with a photo stop at the medieval village of Torrechiara dominated by its romantic castle.
For sure the most spectacular amidst the Castles of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza and Northern Italy... Dating back to 1448 DC, built by Sir Pier Maria Rossi for his lover Bianca Pellegrini...
The last stop will be to  a plant where the world famous "Prosciutto di Parma" ham is produced.
Discover why the best ham can be made only in the hills of Parma where the "Marino" wind blows from the Ligurian Sea through the "Food Valley"... Tasting at the end of the visit.
End of the experience.

Food Tour

Very prompt and responsive to our inquiries. Guide Giorgia and driver Luigi were fantastic. Small tours are best, who wants to stuffed in a bus with 40 other people? Giorgia was well versed in the food, history and culture of the Parma region. Highly recommended.
