Had the most wonderful tour with Luca. He started the tour with lots of jokes to break the ice with our group of 12. First stop Da Enzo (with a line of at least 50 people waiting to get in) made us feel like VIPs! Throughout the tour (6 stops in all) Luca explained the history of the buildings and food always sprinkling in some humor and was happy to recommend restaurants or bars for the rest of our stay. Food was delicious, service was excellent. Definitely go hungry!

We were guided by Luca. He was energetic, informative with both the history and the current times and had a great sense of humour! Our group of 4 had a great time and got to experience a wide range of extremely tasty food. Luca knows the vendors well and their interaction with him as well as us put the tour over the top. If possible, I would recommend doing this tour earlier in your trip as it really helped us choose food for the remainder of our vacation. Thanks Luca for making us feel at home and for giving everyone a great night!

I highly recommend the Eating Europe Trastevere Food Tour hosted by the knowledgeable and entertaining Mimo. The food was delicious, the wine excellent, and every host at each stop couldn’t have been nicer. Mimo made it all work as he instantly put everyone at ease with his humor and interesting anecdotes about Trastevere’s history and culture. If you’re lucky, he’ll even share some of his Mick Jagger moves! The food was a great mix of pasta (of course), meats, Roman street food, gelato and all that is Italian, including the excellent wine. There was something for everyone, including my vegetarian daughter. The area is not to be missed, an interesting escape "across the river" with an old Soho/GreenwichVillage-like feel. Each food stop had its own historical charm and unique offerings, all hosted by long time family owners. Most striking was the 14th century wine cellar! All in all, the four hours flew by. Our family has taken many food tours in many cities, and this one is up there with the best!

This tour exceeded my expectations and had been an absolute highlight! Miri was incredible, her knowledge, energy and enthusiasm really did make this tour great. She took us around to each of the eateries, sharing history and fun facts about the areas we were visiting. She shared tips about what to look out for as well as teaching us helpful Italian terms. We had some of the best food I’ve ever had, from traditional street food to authentic recipes from ‘Roman times’ I could not recommend this tour enough! If you’re a foodie looking for authentic food unique to Rome, this is the tour for you.

While every stop had some of the most delicious foods I've ever tasted, our guide, Toni was the best part of the tour! She created a bond with everyone in our group and continued to connect with each member throughout the evening. Her knowledge of the area and the history behind it, as well as her interesting stories about the places we visited were as special as the foods and wines.
I had taken a food tour through Eating Europe with Toni four years ago, and I actually contacted her to be sure I could be on one of her tours. She truly goes above and beyond. Toni is more than my food tour guide. She's my friend in Rome!

Myself and my partner did this tour on 26th September 2022, we were running slightly late and the tour guide (Walter) waited on us. This was such a kind and lovely gesture to begin what was to become our best experience in Rome.

We were fortunate to be part of a wonderful group of friendly and like minded travellers and enjoyed each and every stop on the tour. The knowledge, friendliness and caring nature of our guide really helped to bring the city to life and add context to the places we visited and ate in.

I cannot recommend this tour enough.

My husband and I did this tour with Mimo (aka Domenico or Piccolo Mick Jagger) on our last night in Rome. We stayed in Trastevere and had eaten at a few places there already, but we were able to eat and see parts of the neighborhood that we hadn't yet! At every stop Mimo provided us with history about the city, neighborhood, and foods and on top of having some of the best meals of the whole trip, we learned so much about Italian culture. We also had a great time getting to know the other people in our group and learning about Mimo and his family

10/10, would recommend!

Valter was a fabulous guide! He was warm, engaging and really knowledgeable about the food scene in Trastevere. We visited some amazing places, had great food - some real hidden gems that most tourists would not have found on their own. There was a lot of food; absolutely no-one went hungry. This was really good value, both in terms of the expertise of Valter and the quality and quantity of food during the tour. We highly recommend this tour; there are so many places where you can get caught out in the centre of Rome (they are touristy, and do not serve the kind of food that locals would eat) but Trastevere and Testaccio are the "real Rome", and foodie suburbs.

My partner and I had a wonderful tour with Katherine, a local Italian-American guide that grew up in the US and is now based in Rome with her spouse. Katherine was very knowledgeable and it was great to see that the guides and restaurant partners have good relationships with each other. I Would recommend, as others have mentioned, doing this tour early during your trip so you can get recommendations for other restaurants that you may want to visit but won't be able to see on the tour. I also appreciated that since this tour happens before peak dinner hours for many of the restaurants, we were able to go to some popular places without staying in line!

I've had this food tour on my list of things to do in Rome for a few years. My only disappointment is that I took so long to book it. It would have saved us a lot of bad meals in Rome if we had just taken it on one of our first trips to Rome!

We took the twilight Trastevere tour with Domenico just as Rome was reopening to tourists in early June. While we didn't have any idea of what to expect, this tour surpassed all of our expectations. Every single stop offered something savory and delicious. We were able to try a lot of things that we might not have ordered otherwise, and in almost every case, we were able to meet the owner and talk with them about their restaurant and/or their food. This has not been something that we have experienced on other food tours, and I think it makes the experience that much better.

My best advice is to approach the tour with an open mind and no restrictions, let Domenico take you where he will, and try everything. Not only did we leave the tour with a handful of restaurants that we wanted to return to, but we felt better prepared to order during our other meals in Rome (and throughout the Lazio region). Domenico is incredibly knowledgable about culture and food, and he's a very open and engaging guide. The same is true of the restaurateurs you visit - they are very proud of their creations and happy to share more with an interested audience. Don't be afraid to ask questions!

We're looking forward to coming back and doing this food tour (and the others available) again on our next trip.
