What to Expect
Your Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius tour starts with a pickup. Depending on what option you chose at checkout, either get picked up from your hotel, the train station, or the cruise port in Naples.

Board a vehicle, and make the ride over to Pompeii—the archaeological site that used to be a Roman city. Once you arrive, follow your guide on a walking tour, and learn the history of the area. Stop at the Forum, the thermal baths, and Vetti’s House.

Afterward, take a break, and enjoy a pizza lunch with your guide and group. Then, it’s off to Mt. Vesuvius.

At Mt. Vesuvius, your guide leads you on a hike to the top of the old volcano. At the top, catch sight of the Bay of Naples and sights inside the crater.

Your tour ends with a ride back to Naples.

I specifically remember getting to Vesuvius and being told to be back to the bus after the climb by 4:45. Then we took a headcount and got organized for departure. To the best of my memory, I think we got back to Naples... More
