Gibraltar's Top of the Rock Cable Car Ticket

Overview
The Rock of Gibraltar boasts magnificent views of Europe, Africa and the surrounding seas, but its 412 meter summit can be a challenge to climb. Enjoy a relaxing ride on a cable car and access the viewing spot with ease, looking out for its resident Barbary macaques. Save time with a short journey each way, keeping the rest of your day free to explore other sites in the historic city.
What to Expect

Arrive to the departure point on the Grand Parade. Enter the cable car station and board your gondola, riding to the top of the rock in just a few minutes. Gaze at the stunning vistas as you ascend, before alighting at the summit, 412 meters above sea level. Enjoy incredible views of Gibraltar, Spain and Morocco, looking out for significant landmarks, such as the Trinity House Lighthouse.

Relax with a snack or drink, available for purchase at the Top of the Rock cafe, and meet the famous Barbary macaques who live at the peak. It is recommended not to touch or feed these wild animals, and keep a hold of your personal belongings, as their inquisitive nature can cause mischief. When ready, board a descending cable car and head back to ground level, leaving with unforgettable memories and unique snaps of your experience.

Cable Car

My experience with the Cable Car was very poor. Parking was a challenge and ended up with a towed car. The wait time was relatively long eventhough I pre-purchased the tickets online. The view from the cable car on our way up was fair compared...More

Great Views

Lovely views to the top of the rock. Can be a lengthy wait to get on so would be better to book in advance. Staff friendly and helpful

Best views over "the Rock" but at a price!

Let's face it, if you're not a WWII fan, there is not much to do or see in Gibraltar (besides the symbolic aspect of crossing a border and listen to some English while travelling through Spain). Getting up to the top of the Rock is...More

Great views of the rock

It was not the first time we used the cable car to get to the top of the Rock. The tickets are expensive: 20,50 per adult for a trip of 6 minutes to the top. The views are stunning but if you are afraid of...More

Thank you for your review. Your absolutely right about the monkeys, it is always best not to take food in your bags as they have become used to people visiting the upper rock feeding them to attract them closer.

A must do while in Gibraltar!

No need to pay for a tour in Gibraltar. Catch a bus to the base of the tram and ride the cable car to the top. If you can, I'd recommend advance purchase of tickets as ticket purchase lines can be long. When you get...More
