- 175holliew0 contributionsBest boat trip everWas an amazing boat trip the guide was lovely and very informative made us feel very welcome and entertaining we saw so many dolphins that came right up to the boat and the guide would tell us where the dolphins were and he answered all the questions we asked. Would recommend was an amazing experience.Written 23 August 2024
- 552agnieszkak0 contributionsDolphin safariIt was a nice experience, we saw the dolphins pretty fast. We stayed and watched them for about 10 minutes. The crew was nice, I would recommend.Written 29 July 2024
- pbernadett0 contributionsAmazing dolphin watch tourThe trip and the crew was great. They managed to navigate us successfully into a pack of dolphins. We were just watching as plenty of dolphins were swimming and jumping around the boat. We enjoyed the trip very much. :DWritten 20 October 2023
- 133becky0 contributionsVery good experienceAmazing to see the dolphins we had a decent amount of time out on the water and they made sure we got the best experience of the dolphins trying to create waves for them to follow beyond the boat too. However I didn’t find them very informative but this could have definitely been due to the fact the on board microphone was broken. They did seem friendly though. Defo worth the moneyWritten 12 October 2023
- Loudcrier0 contributionsDolphin filled afternoonGreat trip out. Saw absolutely loads of dolphin. Captain Tim sat alongside them for ages. Watched them surf the wake on the back of the boat. Dive alongside us and swim alongside the boat. Best bit we had the run of the boat with only 7 other passengers. What a great chilled out afternoon.Written 4 September 2023
- abigailwL7400VS0 contributionsFantastic experienceAn amazing experience! We did not have to travel far from land before being surrounded by a huge fishing pod of common dolphins. The team found the dolphins quickly so we were able to spend most of the time we were out just watching them. The highlight of my holiday. Highly recommended!Written 27 August 2023
- TimboDerricott0 contributionsGreat TimeWe had a great time when we went dolphin-watching. We saw so many dolphins - it was amazing! The best time to go is definitely after 4pm as that's when you can see the most. The crew were really friendly and informative. Highly recommended!Written 25 August 2023
- Traveler649824021450 contributionsFamily boat trip to see the dolphinsFabulous trip round the bay. We saw dolphins and took loads of pictures. Son (10years) loved it. Boat was safe and clean and staff very friendly. Will come again.Written 21 August 2023
- Tomrobobo0 contributionsDolphin safari, blue boatExcellent experience! We booked way in advance and online which i would recommend. A very friendly and professional customer service on the day. The captain and crew were great, couldn't fault them, they knew exactly how to interact with the dolphins and were very informative. The dolphins were amazing, there must have been hundreds of them. I was blown away how close they came and how playful they were. This is one experience ticked off my bucket list! One note, make sure you book on the BLUE boat dolphin safari not the YELLOW boat. We saw 2 of the yellow boats passing us and they looked packed full with fed up people, i would say we had around 16 on ours which gave every one space to see the dolphins up close and we could move around easily. Last note, i've seen a few bad reviews on here, ignore them they are a bunch of Karens, not sure what they expected the weather to be like out of season, also it does say that there is a 1% chance you will not see any dolphins, go with this in mind and you won't be dissapointed.Written 18 August 2023
- Jimmy D0 contributionsAmazing, great for families and good funAmazing trip, highly recommended by me and my family good for all ages and my 2 year old loved the experience. If you are in the area definitely check this outWritten 7 August 2023

- kevinnB192HI0 contributionsWonderful experienceWonderful excellent experience took the two hour boat trip saw loads of dolphins had a fantastic time I think seeing the dolphins was down entirely to the crew without there knowledge I’m sure we would not have seen so many dolphins so close will go again when we return in September.Written 16 May 2023
- jodiehA5381MX0 contributionsAVOID AT ALL COSTSWe was visiting family and was approached by a lady that asked my son if he would like to go see the dolphins. We went to the ticket office and was quoted 71 pound for 2 adults 1 child. It was a bit steep compared to the other boat but was assured by the owner that they are quality over quantity over the other boat. We booked and was charged for using contactless which shouldn't really have happened then the lady behind the counter showed me the weather warnings and said they had warnings for today but to ignore that. We set off out later than stated and me my partner and son sat of the front of the boat that lasted all of 5 minutes before we was drowned with waves as the water was that rough we spent the next 85 minutes sat in the cabin been thrown all over out in the horrendous conditions. One of the crew was very nice and tried to calm me as my son had to put a life jacket on as it was that bad. We shouldn't have been out there and the trip shouldn't have never taken place. We didn't see any dolphins on the "dolphin safari" the few people that was on the trip just got off in utter disbelief. I asked the owner for a refund which I thought was totally fair as the "dolphin safari" didn't show no dolphins and they nearly killed us in the process. They offered a free ticket when they knew I was leaving the next morning. My bank is now investigating to get my refund. Very rude failing company. That all said that the boss was in a bad mood because it was "pay day"Written 19 April 2023
- Sarah N0 contributionsAwful customer serviceWe booked a private tour for Sunday 9th at 12:30 on arrival Ben struggled to find our booking and then said that we were at the right place! He then said our booking hadn’t been put in the book and he could offer us 1:30pm. Another guy said he couldn’t do a trip in an hour so Ben said he’d phone us. At 1:15pm we got a call to say they could do the day after at 11am - when my husband questioned about time they then offered 2pm. We travelled back on the 10th at a cost to ourselves having paid £250 for the experience and expecting better service - or at least an apology !! Neither was received ! The boat set off 30mins late - again no apology and we were out for 1 hour 10mins - no dolphins to be seen ( not guaranteed so fair enough) The worst part was when I’d asked if they’d seen them yesterday to which Ben cheerily replied yes - I don’t think he understood that my children were quite upset ! Awful customer service - not worth the money - AVOIDWritten 10 April 2023

Tony and Tim were great. We had the safety chat then off we went. Within very little time the dolphins were spotted ahead and, joy of joys, they spotted the boat and were beside, under, in front, in fact everywhere. Trying to get a photo was nigh on impossible due to the speed they move but I did get a tail! Weather too rough for us old 'uns to get up from our seats to move around the boat as told we could do and, sadly for us, a family hogged the front of the boat so we saw very little. On the return the skipper increased the speed of of the boat so the dolphins could 'surf' in our wake, we didn't see this either.
If you choose to go on this adventure, decide whether you want to sit right at the front and see pretty well all that goes on (especially if you kneel up) or stay at the rear for the surfing on the homeward journey.
In saying that, we enjoyed what we saw. Take a sweater with you on a cooler day as it does get a tad chilly once out in the bay.
Worth the money, cheaper if you book on line via their web page.

I booked this dolphin viewing trip for my boyfriend and I and specifically chose to go with this company because it advertised smaller viewing groups. There were 13 passengers in total (plus the two crew members running the tour) on the boat. To compare, the boat next to ours in the marina being run by an alternative company was absolutely rammed with people. Once we set off, the tour itself was absolutely amazing! I had been on one other dolphin safari in the UK but it did not compare to this at all! The crew were so lovely and knowledgeable of the best places to go to see the dolphins and about their behaviour and interactions with the boat. Even down to the blue paint detailing on the boat that doesn’t scare away the dolphins in comparison to the bright yellow boats of other touring companies. We saw so many dolphins in their natural habitat being playful with both us and each other. It was an incredible experience that I could not recommend enough to others and will never forget!

This was our second time on the same tour with a years gap in between. We would both say that if anything, the dolphins 🐬 excelled themselves even more than last year! We were visited by a pod of fifty plus who wave surfed and raced alongside the boat within touching distance!!
The tour is enhanced still further by the obvious love of the captain and crew for not only what they are doing but also the animals themselves! We were even graced with a flyover from the inbound British Airways flight which also felt as though it was within touching distance 😂
Visitors to Gibraltar should make this tour a priority part of their itinerary, we are returning in June and it’s already on ours!! Go and enjoy 😊 but make sure you’re on the Blue Boat!!

We had booked on to the sunset trip but got a message asking if we could make an earlier on due to not enough people booked onto the evening.
We ended up going at 2pm the trip was amazing we chose this one due to review that mentioned less people on the boot we had around 12 so was plenty of space to move about.
With in 20 mins we saw the dolphins and the captain would mention where to look and provide some facts about the dolphins . They made sure everyone was able to see the dolphins by constantly repositioning the boat and advising people of space at the front or rear of the boat.
I would 100% recommend dolphin safaris even with the rearrangement all was good .

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review here on Tripadvisor, and also for being understanding about the trip time change, we really do appreciate it and we're all delighted that you enjoyed meeting the dolphins. Also a big thank you for mentioning our signature no-overcrowding policy, and although our boat is the same size as other operators we only ever carry 25 as opposed to others that carry 119.
From all the team here at Dolphin Safari for choosing to sail with us on the blue boat and we do hope to see you onboard again at some point in the future.

We really wanted to do this whilst in Gibralta, we had the choice between dolphin safari and another company, although dolphin safari was slightly more expensive it was amazing. It was less crowded than the other and we had loads of space to move about the boat. We saw loads of dolphins and the crew were very good at spotting them. Very friendly crew but have to say the young lad was exceptional.

Very friendly guys on the Dolphin Safari (blue boat) and easy to book. There were loads of dolphins and we had ample time to watch them. The skipper gave a fab commentary which covered more than just the dolphins.
There are 2 companies doing the boat trips, we called the Dolphin Experience (yellow boat) first as it was the first on the search. They weren't very friendly at all, their boat is also a lot bigger with approx 70 people on it whereas our blue boat had approx 20 people making it a much more personal experience. I would definitely recommend going with the blue boat if you can.

Really good trip. The captain stayed out an extra 10-15 minutes to ensure that we could enjoy the pod that we eventually found. Took a while but it was a great experience and when we caught up with the dolphins they were curious and playful!
A lovely experience, friendly crew, good commentary etc. Thoroughly recommend it.

We had the most amazing experience, thanks to Tim and Tony of Dolphin Safari Gibraltar, on the Blue boat. I have been on a few dolphin trips, but nothing like this! The sea was alive with these beautiful creatures, not one or two, like we have seen before, but Tim estimated that there were about one thousand! I kid you not! Everywhere, under the boat, escorting us, leading us, they even played with us, splashing us with their tail fins. It was just fabulous . I could have stayed on the boat forever! Superb experience.
Thank you. Gary F

We were in the Malaga area and had decided to go to Gibraltar for the day as we heard that there was a good chance of seeing wild dolphins, something that my wife had always wanted to see. After a search online I came across this company, we were walking in the Ocean village area when I was booking the trip when one of the company reps approached us and offered to do the booking in the office for the online price. A short time later we boarded the boat. Our boat was very spacious with plenty of room for everyone on board to see, at the same time other companies were running dolphin boat trips but their boats were very busy and clearly did not have much room for those on board. We really enjoyed the experience - we saw many dolphins and got some fantastic photos! The staff on board were brilliant as well. We enjoyed it so much, we returned a few days later to do it again! However, due to the poor weather that day they were not running unfortunately. Highly recommend and will no doubt do again when in the area next.

The dolphin safari was great. Within 10 minutes we saw so many dolphins! Goosebums! The safari lasted about an hour. You go with a small company, the crew is very friendly and explains a lot about the dolphins and their behaviour. They have been doing this for over 40 years, but nevertheless they are still very enthusiastic about their work. Next time I would definitely go back. Precisely because it is only a small business, between a number of larger companies. We booked it on the day itself, not knowing that this could have been in advance. I would definitely recommend that, to avoid disappointment.
