Leaving Barcelona to see medieval Girona and Figueres can involve the sort of planning you don't want to do during your vacation. Satisfy an interest in Salvador Dali on a day trip that eliminates transport hassles with coach travel to Girona and Figueres’ Dali Theatre-Museum. Benefit from a guided tour of Girona’s Old Town for a more enriching experience than an independent visit. Plus, ample free time lets you personalize your sightseeing itinerary.
What to Expect
Depart central Barcelona by air-conditioned coach and venture through Catalonia’s countryside to the medieval walled city of Girona, located on the Onyar River.

On arrival, you'll take a walking tour of the Old Town, delving into the cobbled lanes and the Jewish Quarter as your guide shares its history. See the 11th-century cathedral, and admire the views of the pastel-colored riverside houses.

After free time for lunch (own expense), continue to Figueres, the 1904 birthplace of surrealist artist Salvador Dali.

Hear about Dali's life and after taking in the giant egg sculptures on its roof, explore the Dali Theatre-Museum, home to one of the world’s biggest collections of his artwork. Must-sees include the 3D installation that resembles Mae West’s face and the adjoining Dali Jewels exhibit.

Finally, enjoy free time to explore Figueres for yourself before your tour concludes at the starting point in Barcelona.

It is a full day tour. You will be traveling over an hour outside of Barcelona. I believe it was evening when we returned - maybe 5 or 6 pm?
