Highlights
Get the best from the Donana National Park on a 4WD day trip from Seville
Visit top wildlife and beauty spots with a guide for navigation and insight
Watch for birds, explore dunes, tour the trails, and visit El Rocio village
Relax in a small group capped at 15 and with hotel pickup and drop-off
What to expect
Start the day with an early morning pickup at your hotel in Seville, then travel to the town of Coria del Rio to visit the northerly marshes of Doñana National Park along the banks of the Guadalquivir River. Roughly 300 species of bird have been sighted in this area's marshes, pine forests, and pastures, and the nearby rice fields shelter Europe’s largest colony of white storks. Keep driving into the park's northernmost area on your way to El Rocío, where you’ll tour the village's chapel and an ornithologists' observatory that's perfect for spotting more birdlife. Stretch your legs on a walk along the Doñana National Park trails near the La Rocina stream. Take a break for lunch (own expense), then head to the beach to learn about the largest dune ecosystem in Spain. As you travel back through the park on the way to Seville, you’ll catch a sunset in the Asperillo pine forest. This full-day tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel in Seville.

Great value
Mar 2020
We travelled from Seville in a comfortable 8 passenger coach. Our guide and driver Frederico gave a good narration in Spanish and again in English. He was knowledgeable about the birds and agricultural crops. He explained things well. We transferred to a four wheel drive vehicle for the roughest part of the journey .
A good day thanks.

These people are liars, do not use this company!!!
Sep 2019
We contacted them in advance by phone regarding the advertised tour and asked several direct questions to their representative. They directly LIED to us, saying for example that we will see sunset in a beautiful forest. Also, they advertised on their website a birdwatching trip to Dehesa de Abajo, the bird observatory in El Rocio, and walks along the nature trails near La Rocina stream. So, we booked the tour and brought quite some camera gear, both for birdwatching and sunset photos. Once we were on the road, the driver/guide, who was very nice, by the way, told us that we are not going to go to Dehesa de Abajo, since it has been dried out for weeks, he left us in El Rocio for an hour, and we were never shown the observatory, and he also told us that we are not going for any walks on nature trails, since they have all been closed for weeks for maintenance. The company KNEW all this and did not bother to change their advertising or to inform their clients. But the nail in the coffin was when I asked about the forest in which we will observe the sunset - he just laughed and told me that they NEVER do sunsets in summer and that we will be going home around 14:00 or so (cannot remember correctly). So, we booked the tour based on a DIRECT LIE by their representative on the phone, and absolutely MISLEADING INFORMATION, basically LIES on their website. It ruined one of the few days we had on this holiday. When we contacted them, demanding an apology and a refund, they kept on ignoring the fact that they LIED, and kept on saying that they are sorry we did not see wildlife, which was never our complaint... A terrible, terrible company, and the worst experience we had in countless years of travelling. AVOID!

Doñana National Park
What was supposed to be the highlight of my visit to Spain was an awful disappointment. We were picked up at 7.30am and half an hour later we stopped at a large roadside pool and observed a few flamingos and storks whilst being bitten to death by mosquitoes then we were driven through the agricultural belt before being herded into a cafe at el Rocio for refreshments. Afterwards we drove around looking at mile after mile of the same pine trees and sand and then returned to el Rocio for lunch. Then we walked down to the not so pretty beach and that was it...
No sand dunes, no marshes and no birds and to add insult to it all, the guide took us back to Seville the quickest way possible.
All I can say is that it's probably my fault for not doing my homework so if you're looking for the real Doñana National Park experience, do your research properly and be aware of the difference between "natural park" and "national park"

then escorted to el Rocio for

Fabulous day tour
May 2019 • Couples
Just back from all-day tour. Ana our guide was fantastic with an encyclopedic knowledge of birds and plants. We saw storks, flamingoes, a red fox chasing a duck, black kites, blue magpies, a snake, glossy ibises, red deer, wild horses, and hoopoes and more. A great tour for nature lovers.

Excellent Guide
Apr 2019 • Friends
Federico was our guide, he was very personable and knowledgeable about the area. The national park is a pretty area, not as wild as some national parks but a welcome break from the city. The water area with the flamingos is delightful.

El Rocia is not that interesting as a town but the history and the pilgrimage is fascinating, all enhanced by a professional guide.

Excellent and informative day trip from Seville to this beautiful national park.
Oct 2018 • Couples
This type of tour depends upon the knowledge and attitude of the guide and Anna was excellent in both these. Given her knowledge, she was able to show us wild lynx up close and point out a wide variety of birds, flora and fauna. She went out of her way to answer our questions and make sure the group, both English and Spanish speaking, were well looked after. We were particularly interested in the environmental issues now affecting Donana national park.
The only downside was how uncomfortable it was sitting in the back of the landrover.

Excellent day trip from Seville if you like wildlife and scenery
It was nice to get out of the city of Seville and see a variety of countryside and wildlife. It was special to see the water birds that we had seen in Africa. The marsh is a major migratory route. We saw many storks, flamingo, sacred ibis and spoonbills. Our guide Sergio was great. He was very friendly and spoke very good English. We had a lovely day. Well worth it.

A very memorable day
Aug 2018 • Couples
I will say at the start that I am a wildlife enthusiast. I could happily have stayed at the first lake we visited and watched the storks, egrets and herons all day. I had never seen a Squacco heron before. Our guide on this day trip was Anna who was not only astonishingly knowledgeable on birds, flowers and plants, but a lovely person and great company. She did her best to show us a lynx. They weren't coming out that day but never mind. It just means we'll have to come back again. El Rocio was very interesting, a bit like a Clint Eastwood movie set, but again, the bird life on the lake there was fantastic. Anna also took us to Acebrón Palace, built in the 1960s by the slightly eccentric Luis Espinosa Fondevilla as a residence and hunting lodge, and now the park visitors' centre. Here she pointed out a bee-eater (because she heard its call), one of the most lovely birds you can ever see. We walked around the natural garden there and had a detailed explanation about cork-oak husbandry and the only native palm of Spain. We were taken to see the transdunes, moving dunes formed by the wind and found only here. We had a week in Seville. We crammed a great deal into our visit. Personally I would come back to Donana and stay there for a month! I would recommend this day out to anyone reading this if you love nature and especially if you are from UK or northern Europe as you will not have seen some of the birds that live here in great numbers. Lastly, and I hope someone at Naturanda Turismo Ambiental reads this, I want to thank Anna very much for being such a brilliant guide, bird-spotter, botanist, and physical geographer and for giving us a fantastic day out. Thank you.

For the nature lovers
Such a lovely day out, a long one, but a lovely one all the same.

Unfortunately for us the Lynx were being a little shy and so we didn’t see any, but the birds, other animals, palaces, nature trails and beaches we did see, more than made up for this.

Ana was a brilliant guide: softly spoken, excellent English, extremely knowledgeable and a brilliant driver!

Our day started with our hotel pick-up, where we then went to have breakfast at the Stork Sanctuary - beautifully quiet.

We then spent the day going through the National Park trying to spot the lynx, to no avail, spent some time in El Rocio looking at the lagoon and the town. We then went on to the palaces and nature trail followed by lunch in a lovely little restaurant. (If you go, ask to eat the restaurant that is not on the beach, the one before the dunes)

Our day ended looking at and spending time on the dunes and beaches, dipped our toes in the Atlantic and then came home.

A long but thoroughly enjoyable day.

100% recommend!
