      Don't bother
We bought a hop on hop off day ticket. The train was clearly oversold for the day. We were squeezed on in the morning and got off earlier than intended because it was very uncomfortable. I know what you're thinking... I'll bet she's a biggun! Nope, I'm 5ft 2" and it was still a squeeze! The train then stopped at multiple locations where nobody got off and lots of people were waiting to get on. It sounded like a few people had waited a while and the earlier train was also full to bursting. There was only one train every 30 minutes. We tried to get back on during the afternoon but were unsuccessful. We reached out to the operator, but they offered no compensation.

Use the train to get to the Alhambra
We took the train around its whole route. It gives you a good overview of Granada and you have some great views. The prerecorded audio was ok. We wish we had bought it the day before when we climbed to the Alhambra

Worthwhile Shore Excursion to Alhambra from Malaga
Our second shore excursion with Spain Days as the Tour Operator was just as efficient and great as our first. Communication from the beginning was great. The bus guide (Debbie) was helpful and efficient. The tour guide, Daniel, was extremely knowledgeable and showed and told us so much about Alhambra that it was hard to take it all in! It was an amazing day! Full of information and facts from the moment Debbie met us, turned us over to Daniel, until we returned to the ship. Not only did we learn about Alhambra, but Debbie squeezed in a lovely hour in Granada with some recommendations of the use of our time. She then shared lots of fun facts about Malaga going and coming on the tour. It once again was a tour very worth the time and money! My only suggestion is to book fast when you know you are taking a cruise that is stopping in Spain. Spain Days tours fill up fast and I missed getting on any of them on our first cruise. They are worth waiting for.

Get Your Guide and Granada City Tour certainly earned this one star review todaywith their lack of attention to detail
-1 Star "Make sure to exchange voucher prior to boarding the Hop On/Hop Off bus" were the instructions when I purchased the HOHO tickets online through Get Your Guide. No establishments are open in Plaza Nueva when the buses start running in the morning. I tried to call the number on the poster at the bus pick-up location and the call didn't go through. So I just waited for the bus to show and spoke to the driver. Turns out the bus operator only needed the online reservation to issue the paper ticket. “Bring headphones” were the original instructions from Get Your Guide, and we did. Wireless of course, it’s 2025. Their cheap wired earbuds cost an additional 1.5€ each-- again, not a big deal, but it’s the details that matter. -1 Star The commentary was just ok, there was a lot of dead air so an instrumental song was plugged into the background. Why “Blue Bayou”?? It’s a song written by Roy Orbison and popularized by Linda Ronstadt, yet there are many flamenco melodies that could have been chosen to fill the dead air. -1 Star The printed map the bus driver gave me recommends downloading an app from the Google Play Store to see when the next bus/train is coming. “Granada City Tour” is not there. -1 Star The website that’s printed on the poster? Dead. The website that works is www.granada.city-tour.com I realize that the one day pass is an inexpensive ticket, but Get Your Guide and Granada City Tour certainly earned this one star review today with their lack of attention to detail. Details matter. My attached photos show the incorrect contact info.

      Great day out
Easy booked and everything was seamless. Tour guide was very good and the coach was spotless. The hotel for the trip was 75 euros each, however I guess that might have included the rock tour too. We just booked the shopping tour to Gibraltar not knowing there’s an extra tour to the top. That said our tour was 88 Euro for all three of us. We had a look around a few drinks and a great steak meal in Paparazzi Steak Cafe which was awesome. All in all a great day out along the Southern coastal road to Gibraltar. We normally book days out at the hotels we stay, however now Tripadvisor is worth a look too.

      Must see
Great tour, beautiful places. We did the tour without a guide. The julia travel representative provided us with maps amd directions before giving us a meeting point for the return trip. The 2 cities are very quaint, lots of places to get a quick bite, great pictures and conversations with locals. Julia Travels ensured we were satisfied! Great agency in Torremolinos!!

GREAT VIEWS NOT TO MENTION CAKE!
Hello you lot! Although we never went with this tour, we did visit Frigliana, and it was blooming gorgeous. Luckily, we found the place which is a bit of a climb in the car, but ok. (Domestic 0A is scared of heights, but she was fine with this drive). When we got there, the views are breathtaking and it a quaint, quirky village that is well worth the trip. There are plenty of small restaurants and coffee shops and you can see why it’s won the prettiest pueblo title. We went on the tourist train which I 100% recommend. It leaves from the centre of the village and does a round robin. You stop for a bit and the driver gives you a run down of some of the views. Would I go back? Too right squire!

      City Tour Granada
The bus turned up without any audio capability - the whole point of the tour! We waited another 30 minutes for the next one. It went to stop 3 and sat there for another 20 minutes. The audio was out of sync with the route. Then because we were later than we should have been they made us leave the bus at drop off 9 and we had to get a taxi back. I couldn’t recommend this tour to anyone except a deaf person with time on their hands!

Cordoba, small but impressive and worth the visit
A lovely but long day. David, our tour bus guide was friendly and helpful. Along the route he provided us with lots of information about the region, especially olive growing and production - in 3 languages (Spanish, German and English). The scenery en route was beautiful. We arrived in Cordoba with time to wander a bit before our local guide, Nanny, arrived. She gave us an excellent tour of the Mezquita, which is huge, impressive and interesting to learn about. She also guided us through the winding streets of the old historic Center around the Mezquita and told us about life in the area over the centuries. Our only disappointment was that the tour description said entry to the synagogue was included but we never went to it. We did walk in what was the Jewish quarter and saw the statue of Maimonides, but no synagogo. Maybe she ran out of time. We the. Had more time on our own and enjoyed an outdoor lunch of tapas. My only criticism of the tour was there was a bit too much time to wander alone at the end, and it would have been interesting to see the synagogue.

The tour on Gibraltar was great with a dedicated English tour guide/mini bus driver who was informative and funny, and the caves were great to see. The bus from Malaga to Gibraltar took 3 hours as there were many stops to pick people up and the return trip took 2.5 hours. More time travelling than spent at Gibraltar which was surprising. Would also have been good having some commentary on the drive to and from Malaga though the staff member on these parts of the trip was translating info into 4 languages.

Dont take the car, queues are long. Park on Avenida Ejercito. Theres about 4 car parks on that road, came to about 14 euris for 6 hours. Border is about 10 mins. Can get a bus from border into town or up to cable car. If youve booked cable car , shuttle comes in opposite road to eroski. We got cable car to top then did sites on way down. Town centre is then 10 mins away and border from town about 5 mins. Great day

We enjoyed a tour of the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar on 6 September 2024. We booked via TUI in the UK and were staying in Benalmadena on the Costa Del Sol, which was about 2.5 hours by bus.

TUI allowed us some free time before and after the tour to buy souvenirs and lunch.

The actual trip is outsourced to Blands Travel, who are based on Gibraltar. Our guide was called Angel. He was very funny, knowledgeable, and passionate about the place. A tape plays an official commentary and Angel stopped the tape periodically to provide additional details which enhanced the experience. Extra nuggets of information thrown in to help us understand more about the place.

The tour guides are excellent drivers too. The buses are quite small, but the roads are very narrow and very busy. Their interactions with the native Macaque apes were excellent. These wee 'monkeys' know that the guys driving the white tour buses have food for them, and while they're distracted, us tourists could capture a few pictures.

Angel and his colleagues run 3 tours a day, so they know what they're talking about and this clearly shows. If visiting Gib, pay them a visit.

This was a very disappointing and a mis sold trip to say the least and a waste of 13.5 hours of my holiday. I certainly wouldnt recommend the excursion or Julia travel, who I contacted after the trip to express my disappointment, and have failed to respond.

In short, the from hotel pick up to drop off the excursion was a farse. We spent hours queuing to get into the coach park and then queuing to clear customs. Once cleared and back on the coach, we were driven to the coach station and told 'the centre is over there!' Not only did I not book a shopping trip, we were not even escorted to the centre, just merely told to return to the coach park at 2.30, at which point we would be taken to the caves! Having killed 1.5hours in the centre, as instructed we returned to the coach park, to then be met by yet another delay. When the mini bus eventually arrived to transport us to the caves, at the cave we were instructed to be back on the mini bus in 20 mins.....this was the total duration of our visit to the caves and to see the monkeys! [all 3 of them!] We were not taken any further into the national park, or up the rock to see the monkeys. The driver rudely commented on a passenger who 'exceeded' her 20 min allowance that you can only take so many pictures of a monkey, and whilst this might be true the trip I booked was to see the monkeys, the caves apparently being the one to see them. After our extremely quick visit to the caves there was a few angry passengers and I can totally understand why! We were then taken back to the coach park and told we had another 2 hours to wander around the town centre, this was to wait for those on the coach that had booked the shopping trip!

Having been told by Julia travel, St Michael's caves was the best trip [and most expensive!] to see the monkeys, for a 13.5 hour trip, to spend 20 mins at the caves and just see the monkeys outside rather than see more of the national park is pretty appalling.

Trapped on a bus for 5 hrs. There/3 hrs. Back. Bus was not maintained and had problems going more than 30 km/hr., driver and the guide argued, driver circled Torremolinas forever because he was lost/didn’t know how to find pickups. Changed buses finally, but the new one’s roof leaked and soaked at least 3 rows of passengers when it turned corners, air conditioning didn’t worked/sporadically turned on/off. Terrible.

    Sept 2023 • Friends
One of the worst experiences, thanks to Julia Travel, who still did not respond to neither of my emails. From Malaga to Gibraltar, we spent 4 hours on the bus, picking up people one by one. When we got to the border, several passengers were asking the guide for a restroom, including myself, but sadly, all we got was a very short and rude response: "Later!" I felt very uncomfortable and in need of a toilet after the 4-hour ride. And apparently, I was not alone.

My friend and I booked the Rock of Gibraltar tour, and the guide instructed us that we had to be back at the bus station by 1.20 p.m. (so basically 2.5 hours of doing nothing but walking around the main street). Everybody who had the same tour was on time, however, we had to wait another 30 minutes for the minibuses to pick us up. It was already 2.15 p.m. when we got to the first stop, which was a lighthouse, where we were allowed to spend 5 minutes. Then we drove to St. Michael Caves where we could stay for 20 minutes. Once we were done with the cave, we headed back to the bus station and took off from Gibraltar. We did not make it to the top of the rock where we could have enjoyed the views of the Mediterranean Sea, Spain, and Morocco from the highest point. Exactly how Julia Travel describes this tour on its website. We did not want to roam around the town for 2.5 hours. We wanted to do the rock tour and see the monkeys. Instead, we spent 8 hours on a bus (for a 20-minute excursion). Total waste of time and money.
Very disappointing, and I would not recommend anyone to choose Julia Travel, as they do not even bother to respond and apologize.

The bus was comfortable with AC and USB plugs. Finding the departure point was very easy using only Google maps. This tour simplified my trip so much-- and cost about the same as if I were to have gone alone to do these same excursions *but MUCH less stress as someone who has never been to Spain or Gibraltar prior*! Guides were phenomenal! Enough time was provided for all stops, and I had a blast watching the monkeys! I highly recommend anyone who is thinking of doing this tour, does it.

Great tour, it was a bit crowded, both the bus picking up the passengers from Costa del sol, as well as the mini bus for the rock tour. But we saw all the tourist attractions (Europa point, St. Michael’s cave and the apes den). With the tour bus you pass both borders much faster and hassle free. Well worth visiting
