About
Take a 60 minute time travel through Berlin in a traditional "Kraftdroschke". You drive in a vehicle, like in the historical days of "Kaiser Wilhem" - an electric carriage. Our chauffeurs show you in a private tour the most interesting sights of historical Berlin, such as Brandenburger Gate, Gendarmenmarkt, Museum Island with its popular cathedral and castle. Furthermore, this tour leads to the newly built capital hill monuments around the historic Reichstag, which stands in an interessting architectural contrast to the old center. Tours are available every 30 minutes starting from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

What to expect
  • Enjoy our time travel with an authentic vehicle of the Wilhelminian era. It will take you through the kaleidoscope of historical and modern Berlin downtown. Our comfortable electric carriages will pick you up at the famous Hotel Adlon, close to landmark Brandenburger Gate. From there you first will discover the oldest districts of Berlin, such as Cölln, Dorotheenstadt and Friedrichstadt. Our chauffeurs know many famous and insider stories about Berlin's popular places, such as the Bebelplatz, Gendarmenmarkt and Museums Island with the 5 world heritage (UNESCO) museums. The Museums Island being the origin of the city Berlin from the early Middle Ages. Our time travel then swaps to places of German-German history. Checkpoint Charly is not only on your way to the next stations, but also temporally on the timeline from the past to the present. During the tour you cross the course of the Berlin Wall several times. Nowhere is this as tangible as at the former border crossing for Western Allies. The places and buildings in the area often tell spy stories of the Cold War in Berlin. Then you reach the present in the political center of the capital city. The Reichstag building with its futuristic dome is the most prominent symbol for politics in Berlin. From here we drive to the government headquarters, the "Bundeskanzleramt". The citizens of Berlin have given the building the nickname "washing machine". You can later on enjoy a view from the main station to the capital hill and the floodplains of the Spreebogen with many beach bars, before your chauffeur will bring you back to the boulevard Unter den Linden.

Loved every minute of this!
Oct 2019
My husband and I took this tour during the festival of lights. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Berlin. You get to see so much of the city so quickly. And for the festival of lights, I can not imagine seeing it any other way. I highly recommend this!

Best way to see Berlin!
Aug 2019
What a great way to see Berlin! Jochen was a great and funny guide, he gave us quite a few facts about the city. The carriage is really comfortable, we felt like real princesses. People were really curious looking at this carriage on the roads. We had to pay for drinks though when water was supposed to be included in the tour, maybe good to adapt the FAQ.

Great service, great tour but most of all a great driver and guide!
Jul 2019 • Couples
Me and my girlfriend did the tour. It's a very romantic way to do sightseeing in Berlin. Plus you get a lot of attention while your driving around from all the other tourists which is also fun :)
We did a tour earlier the same day with a hop on hop off bus, but on this tour we got so much more information, and anecdotes from our guide. That's why I also like to give a special thumbs up to Esso. You made the trip even better with your good care, your humor and your knowledge.
This is a must do in Berlin!

Special greetings to Esso from Claudia and Hans.

Sightseeing with an electric wagon
Jul 2018 • Friends
We had a splendid trip with the electric wagon around Berlin. We selected the historic theme and Jochen, our driver, was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Thank you for the words of praise. Especially Jochen as a historian and Berliner is happy to show his guests the invisible and unknown sides of Berlin. We look forward to your next visit.

Absolutely brilliant
Oct 2017 • Friends
We chose the electric carriage because it sounded different. It certainly was. We had a brilliant hour on a fantastic vehicle that had more attention from everyone we passed than the Berlin light festival itself. Great time, great laughs and great driver. Just book it!

Dear guests, It definitely has been an honor to welcome you on board of one of our Carrosse DeLouis electrical carriages. And we are totally excited about your fantastic feedback. Yes - when driving in one of our authentic coaches from the late 19th century, guests often feel like becoming an "instant celebrity". This is what we truly love about this experience. It is so much fun for our chauffeurs having happy customers and an amazed crowd around all the time! We would be delighted to see you again in one of our carriages in the future - in Berlin, Dresden or any other city with our Carrosse DeLouis service. With best regards, Your Carrosse DeLouis Team
