See many of Berlin's most important landmarks and highlights, with informative commentary from your guide, on this half-day walking tour of Mitte. Learn insider information on the German city's different eras, stretching from modern times back through the Cold War, Nazi, Imperial, and Prussian time periods. Other stops on this jam-packed guided tour include Checkpoint Charlie, the Holocaust Memorial, the rebuilt Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, and the Berlin Wall.
What to Expect
Meet your guide and group outside of the centrally located Hackescher Markt S-Bahn station. Take off on foot through the city's Mitte district, packed with historic highlights and landmarks.

Walk down Berlin’s Unter den Linden boulevard while listening to an introductory overview of Berlin's history, from its founding to the modern era. Next stops include the Berlin State Library, Neue Wache, the Reichstag, and Pariser Platz.

Imagine what it was like for citizens to pass through Checkpoint Charlie between East and West Berlin, as well as visit Bebelplatz, where the Nazis burned banned books in 1933. Spend some time strolling along the Berlin Wall, and then stop at the Topography of Terror Museum, situated at the former Gestapo and SS Headquarters.

The tour's last stops are Potsdamer Platz, the Friedrichstrasse, and the Gendarmenmarkt. Walk away with a city map including information about other things to do during your stay in Berlin.

If the company is receiving indications there are many people interested (from online bookings, previous day's numbers, etc) they have been known to provide extra group leaders and split the groups up.
