Overview
Visiting Bavaria’s magical Neuschwanstein Castle by train makes it an even more memorable experience. On this tour, relax on the ride from Munich to Fussen, where you’ll have the option to walk or catch a carriage ride up to the castle. Save valuable vacation time by getting skip-the-line access, and learn about the site’s fascinating history with an included guided tour. Note: Coach travel replaces train during certain months.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with a roughly 2-hour train ride from Munich through the German countryside to Fussen. Note that the train is seasonal, offered during January through April and mid-October through November, and you’ll be traveling by coach otherwise. When you arrive, walk 20 minutes up the hill to the castle or opt for a carriage ride.

The price of the tour doesn’t include your castle entrance fee, but you can pay it directly to the tour company on the day of your visit. And by booking in advance, you’ll receive skip-the-line access.

Visit the castle interiors and towers, and get the photo ops and views of surrounding attractions including a lake, waterfall gorge, and Hohenschwangau Castle. Listen while your guide tells stories about the tragic reign of the “mad” 19th-century Bavarian king who commissioned the building of the castle.

Finish the day with a return ride back to Munich.

Great trip with great guide

We had such a wonderful trip with our tour guide, Jax! He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. It was very convenient and enjoyable. We will definitely be booking through radius tours for future trips throughout the duration of our trip to Munich. Thank you!

Beautiful castle even in the rain

Dani (and Veronika) were great guides! They helped make the most of a cold, rainy day. Dani's storytelling brought Leopold II's history to life and her recommendation for the doughnuts was excellent.

I am skeptical about tours and prefer to do my own thing, but I was right on time so I went with a tour to ensure logistics to visit Neuschswanstein castle worked since I only had one full day. I had not even purchased a...More

Glad we booked this tour instead of doing this in our own. We had Jake as our guide and he was very knowledgeable. Jake took time to introduce himself and asked each of us where we are from, and found out that he and my...More

The castle was breathtaking. The king eccentric. And the story mysteriously intriguing. Chris created a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the tour and engaged everyone with his extensive knowledge and witty charm. Memorable day! Cheers mate.... and thanks Radius Tours. Greg and Tanya

We left around 4:45 & arrived at the station after 6:30. It depends on the traffic going into Munich.

There is time to eat at the bottom of the hill by the castle. We did a sit down meal, but there are also snack bar options. The guides will point out places to eat. You can also eat on the way there if you want.
