This cheese and wine tasting experience is for those who want to learn the ins and outs of two of France’s beloved dining traditions. A professional cheesemonger guides you through the tastings of seven cheeses paired with three French wines, while explaining the history of French cheese making and the art of traditional cheese production.
Highlights
  • Explore an authentic French cheese cellar beneath the streets of Paris
  • Taste seven French and Swiss cheeses paired with French wine
  • Learn about the history and art of traditional French cheese making
  • Tour limited to 10 to ensure a personalized experience
What to Expect
Meet your professional cheesemonger guide in a wine and cheese shop in Paris’ Third Arrondissement. After placing protective gear over your clothing, you descend into the cool and darkened cheese cellar. During this cheese and wine tasting tour, you taste seven different varieties of freshly cut French and Swiss cheeses. Alternate bites of Camembert, L'Etivaz, and Beaufort with sips of three delicate French wine paired to complement the cheeses. Fruit and fresh baguettes enhance your tasting experience. You learn about the history of French cheesemaking while marveling at the cellar’s supply of ripening wheels and blocks. Participants are limited to 10 for a more personal wine and cheese tasting tour. The tour ends at the shop, where it began.

What a delightful and informative time, learning so many specifics about various cheeses, differences in rinds, soft vs hard cheeses, aging, and more. The aging room was very cold but hopefully reversed our aging ;) The wine tasting was equally enjoyable, especially built upon

One of the reasons we chose this tour was because it stated that we would tour the cellar. We went into a refrigerated room at the back of the shop for a bit and then had the tasting at a table in the back of the store but were not given the cellar tour. Another group was

Hello @Croissantman ! Thank you for taking the time to write a few words. We are very glad you enjoyed the cheeses and pairings. Also sorry you were sad not to be able to go and seat down at the cellar :) We were running out of staff that day and could not take every one at the cellar. :( :( Our cheese tasting and cheese making workshops are held in a professionnal environment, and is dedicated to professionnals. This makes the experience very authentic and not touristy for you, which we think is great. In the meantime we can need flexibility sometimes (99% of workshop are held at the cellar) but we take the point and you will be welcome anytime so we can show you the cellar ! Best
