After pickup from central Bordeaux, set out on the around 45-minute journey to St-Emilion, traveling by air-conditioned minibus. Along the way, stop to visit a grand cru classified wine chateau in the St-Emilion wine region and enjoy a tour of the estate. As you stroll around the vineyards, learn about the winemaking process, the importance of “terroir,” and the different cru classifications of French wine. Finally, sample a selection of Bordeaux wines during a guided tasting.
Continue to the hilltop town of Saint-Emilion and enjoy a guided 45-minute walking tour of the picturesque medieval village. After taking in the highlights, enjoy free time to purchase lunch (own expense) at a local restaurant, browse the shops, or visit the town’s wine cellars.
Depending on time and your group’s preferences, there may also be chance to stop at another winery on the way back to drop-off in Bordeaux.
