Meet your coach in Galway city center or at your central hotel and learn about Connemara culture and the many movies that have filmed there from your friendly local guide. Your first stop is mountainside Leenane village, the setting of 1990’s film The Field, followed by Ireland’s only fjord, Killary Fjord.
Next, stop at Kylemore Abbey, a 19th-century castle set on a pretty lake surrounded by mountains. Today, it’s home to Benedictine nuns and award-winning Victorian walled gardens. From here, visit Spiddal, an Irish-speaking village where thatched cottages look onto the beach and North Atlantic Ocean. At the end of the tour, the coach will drop you in the city center.
