Half-Day Private Glendalough, Wicklow, and Powerscourt Gardens Tour from Dublin
US$500.60
Overview
Get to know the verdant County Wicklow on this private tour, which includes personalized attention and has all the details arranged ahead of time. Depart Dublin in a private vehicle and relax on the ride, enjoying the scenery and your guide's commentary as you travel. Highlights include Avoca village, Powerscourt Gardens, and the sixth-century ruins at Glendalough.
What to Expect
Taking a private tour to County Wicklow means you are free to customize it however you like; let your guide know where your interests lie and he or she will be happy to change the stops or the durations to accommodate your preferences. After Dublin hotel pickup, sit back in your private tour vehicle and enjoy the scenery while your guide takes care of navigation and directions on the east coast route to Wicklow Gaol. Once you arrive, take an interactive tour led by actor guides to understand the history of its prisoners and make a stop in the Genealogy Room to trace your Irish ancestry.

Continue on to Avoca village, where you’ll make a lunch stop and have some time to shop for some of the town’s famous handicrafts. After that, depart for Glendalough, a monastic city founded in the sixth century where you can explore the grounds and the ruins.

The day’s last stop is Powerscourt Gardens, established in 1731. Take your time to walk through the sweeping terraces, statues, ornamental lakes, secret hollows, and rambling walks.

End your day with convenient drop-off back in Dublin.

A spring day in Wicklow Mountains

We were picked up at Dublin Airport by Alan Bradley from Touristy to head to Glendalough and Wicklow Mountains National Park. Rather than driving to many attractions, we wished to go directly to Glendalough, to be in the nature. Alan excellently adjusted the day’s schedule...More

Blown away!

This is just one of the quality tours with Touristy! The day was a mixture of weather on the Wicklows: very windy on the top of the mountain, of course! Alan, our tour guide, has a wealth and breadth of detailed knowledge both historical and...More

Extraordinarily informative tour of Glendalough and Wicklow

My father and I visited Dublin for days and the Glendalough/Wicklow tour was our only excursion outside of the city. Our tour guide Bradley was most informative about Irish history, geography and culture. We visited the Wicklow gaol, a Very Old monastic settlement, a waterfall...More
