Overview
We run our river trips from Dublin City Moorings (beside the Jeanie Johnston) through the very center of the beating heart of the capital. Our river trip is the only way to actually paddle under the famous O’Connell and Ha’penny bridges! City Kayaking is a fantastic way to see Dublin’s most famous landmark sites from a unique angle!

The trips are led by our experienced local guides and our kayaks are very stable "sit on top", ideal for beginners. The experience takes about 2 hours of which at least 90 minutes on the water.
Highlights
  • Get a unique perspective on Dublin—from the water by single or tandem kayak
  • See landmarks such as Ha’penny Bridge and Jeanie Johnston from the river
  • Suitable for all abilities, from beginners to experts: It’s perfect for families
  • Dedicated instructor/guide and small group ensure a safe and fun experience
What to Expect
Greet your guide at a central Dublin location, and receive your lifejacket, paddle, and single or tandem kayak. Listen to paddling instructions and a safety briefing before you set off. Your guide identifies some of Dublin’s top landmarks as you glide along the River Liffey. Look out for Irish favorites such as Ha’penny Bridge, O’Connell Bridge, Jeanie Johnston ship, and Custom House. At the end of your kayak trip, return to your starting location. After handing off your equipment, changing out of your wet clothes, and retrieving any belongings you may have left in storage, you are free to make your way to your next Dublin destination.

Loved this trip! It’s 2 hours, and you follow the Liffey through the City, pausing every now and then for some history from your guide. We had Mike and he was brilliant! Very knowledgeable, friendly and pretty funny. Great guy.
