A long day but you get plenty of rest stops and photograph opportunities at breathtaking views. Some of the stops are very close together so it’s a lot of getting on the bus to get off again 20 minutes later but it’s worth it for the photographs.

Recommend the boat trip- it’s £16.50 with the tour guide or if you go when you get there I think it’s more expensive. It’s easier to have cash instead of card but there is a cash point just by the meeting place or there are cash points at a few of the stops. A great day out especially if you’re in Edinburgh and you want to see the rural side of Scotland and you only have a day.

The tour guide was great and friendly (Jim) he could tell you the history of each point of interest.

Very good trip and great value for money. The tour involves a lot of bus travel, but since the scenery is so great, time really flies! The tour passes lots of places famous from history or known from movie productions. My favorite spots were the amazing mountan range called The Three Sisters, just before Glencoe, and the stark desolation of Rannoch Moor. The boat trip on Loch Ness costs extra but is a must, and is carried out on a ship full of sonars and sonar screens, and a good guide.

I took the trip with my 15-year old son, He was also very happy that we took the trip!

Our driver and tour guide was an ex RAF guy named John. He drove safely and gave us many great stories throughout the trip, and delivered with humour - both informative and entertaining.

If you go to Edinburgh, you must really spen a day on a sightseeing tour. Without it, you haven’t reslly seen Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The only extra thing I would have wished for was a slight extension of the trip, so that we could have a short stop with a photo-opportunity at Stirling Castle.

Jim was our driver and tour guide and did a great job giving us a Scottish history lesson. Due to The Queen’s passing, the pick up and drop off locations were a bit up in the air, but the hairy coo did a great job of keeping us informed of changed locations due to road closures. They gave us carrots to feed the hairy coos! And you will stop quite a bit to take in the scenery and take photos. I would recommend bringing cash pounds if you want to get on the ferry in fort augustus to see nessie, although they will give you a few places to stop and get cash while on the bus. Pitlochry will be your last stop and unfortunately almost all the stores were closed by the evening, so definitely worth going back another day to explore this cute town as it’s accessible by scotrail from the waverly station. Great tour to see the highlands and not have to worry about driving, parking or tolls. You can sit back, rest your eyes and listen to the history of Scotland and current events.

Thank you for the most amazing coach trip.

I took my two teenage sons on this tour, as I thought it would be good for them to see a little of the Scottish countryside. When I booked tickets, I saw that there would be driver commentary, but from my experience on various other coach trips over the years, I assumed it would either be the driver grunting: "That's Stirling castle on the right there" or a pre-recorded spiel in five languages that didn't really say much that we couldn't have found in a guidebook.

In short, I was wrong. We had Rose, who was astonishing. Funny, engaging and informative, she had the whole coach listening, hanging on her every word. There was no other conversation on the bus: we were all just listening to everything she said, as she expertly summarised Scotland's history, tied in TV and movie connections, talked about Scottish folklore, geology, rewilding, whisky, Highland cattle, country dancing...

So while the scenery and the stops were pretty much as I expected, Rose's commentary added a whole new dimension, meaning that as a whole the trip hugely exceeded all of my expectations. My boys, too, absolutely loved it - to the extent that they are already asking whether we can do the three-day tour next summer (on condition we get the same driver). And if any of my friends go to Edinburgh, I will be proselytising about your tours.

Scott, the guide, was amazing.
Very knowledgeable and friendly.
Reading through the website I understood that I would have options in case I didn’t want to join the Loch Ness Cruise (extra 16.50 pounds) which is not entirely true. The village where we stop and board the tour is very small (you would walk through it in 15min) and as we stop there for 2 hours, not boarding the tour means sitting in a restaurant or a cafe for an extended period of time.
The views are amazing, though. Great sightseeing and lots of Scottish history.

I travel extensively and take many tours. John, King of the North in the Highlands, was by far the best. He was an amazing host. He kept us in line, kept us on time, was very humorous and extremely informative. He made a 12-hour tour fly by. Wish we had him on more tours. Kudos to John. You will not go wrong with him leading the pack.

For those who do not want to or cannot stay in the Highlands, I highly recommend this tour with this company. The booking was very easy as were the instructions for the meeting point. We saw beautiful places that deserve a future in-depth visit. Our driver and guide Tony was phenomenal. He accompanied us with exciting stories throughout the trip and at the end we all sang songs together from the playlist we chose. The boat tour on Lochness is highly recommended as well as the fish & chips at the parking lot.

Had a wonderful 1 day bus tour with kilt-wearing Bryan. Bus was comfortable but for those who want to know: no charging USB ports , no wifi and no bathrooms on bus. Bryan did make a couple extra stops to allow for bathroom use. Very entertaining stories and loved his accompanying music playlist of Scottish bands and singers. We had our 18 yo, 19 yo and 10 yo kids with us and they all enjoyed it. We chose to do the Loch Ness boat tour but likely would choose to stay in town instead next time. Boat tour was jammed pack. We arrived 12 min before our boat trip time and line was already very long, could not get seats on top deck and bottom decks seating offers poor views. We had a quick lunch in St Augustus before boat. We also bought some snacks at Hairy Coo stop. You can buy food for the Coos in the gift shop for 1 pound (cash only) and our kids loved feeding them. The scenery in highlands was beautiful and we got a few quick stops for photos.

We signed up for the small bus tour (and paid extra), supposed to be no more than 16 passengers. The day of the tour it was a 34 person bus and a full -size coach that picked up travelers. No notice was given for the switch and no refund of the premium paid for the small bus tour. The 34 person bus had no functional air conditioning and it was 80+F/27+C and humid in the bus. Tour guide/driver was decent with history/stories, but didn't need to hear about his personal life. He also needed to learn how to operate the controls. We went the first 10 minutes of the return trip with no air circulation as he didn't know how to get the vent fan running.

Our tour guide Brian made the trip such a wonderful experience. He was super knowledgeable in the history of Scotland and very Charismatic & Passionate in delivering the Information to us. I truly had a wonderful time visiting all the places on this tour and he really and truly wasn't just a basic tour guide but he made the entire trip a great abd wonderful experience. He played music which was themed and planned every step of the way and he had the entire bus singing songs we had soo much fun apart from visiting the sites which was spectacular to see. I will forever cherish those memories of that particular tour. The places we visited was soo amazing to see and I kid you not it was worth every scent. I would recommend to take request the tour with Brian because he really and truly adds more to this tour than just visiting the sites.
