Amazing! Tour Guide was the best!
Jun 2021 • Solo
An amazing Scottish adventure! After months of lockdowns and restrictions it was so lovely to get away for a week and I couldn't have picked a better tour or Tour Guide for that matter!
We saw some amazing places with a few suprises thrown in, stopped for lunch with plenty of options and had a lot of free time in the evenings to socialise and/or look about and unwind.
Our Tour Guide Rich was brilliant, super friendly, funny and approachable. A local Scotsman who is very passionate about his country and eager to give his group the best experience possible. The extent of his knowledge never failed to impress me. I loved learning about highland customs and history, and particularly loved the Spotify playlist he played throughout the journey. I have stolen quite a few songs from it and had them on repeat.
He gave us a lot of tips and suggestions based upon our interests and needs and he even drove a couple back to a specific spot on the Isle of Skye at their request as they needed extra photos for their Insta.

If you're not sure whether to book this tour, just do it! I'm now super keen to return to discover more of Scotland - particularly Isle of Lewis and Harris!

Isle of Skye, Loch Ness and steam train from Edinburgh
Jun 2021
There was so much to see in Scotland, my highlights of the tour where staying in Oban, going to Glencoe, visiting the Isle of Skye and the steam train.
Rich our tour guide was full of knowledge and information about place we visited that the guide books dont tell you. Kept everyone entertained throughout the trip.
The only thing that I would change is when stopping for lunch in some little scenic places would have liked more time, as not enough time to eat and take it all in. One example of this was when we stopped at Aviemore.
Otherwise we could not have expected more from the tour.

Excellent experience of Scotland
May 2021
I was an amazing experience covering Oban, Isle of Skye and Inverness in 5 days.
Day-1: We started from Edinburgh. On the way to Oban visited many of the places on the way and reached Oban by 5pm. Hotel accommodation was beautiful with sea facing.
Day-2: Started from Oban at 8.15 am and of the way to isle of sky had a wonderful time . Hotel accommodation here was also very good (refrigerator was missing) and next day breakfast was also very nice.
Day-3: Started from Isle of Skye and on the way to Inverness came across different landscapes and water bodies. ***Hotel accommodation could have been a little better in Inverness. I must appreciate the breakfast provide by them.

Overall it was an excellent trip. Thanks to Rich for explaining about culture, civilisation, history and geography of all the places we went through.

Improvement: Could have given more time to walk around and explore at few places.

Best guided tour
Jun 2021 • Couples
I wanted to really write this review for our guide Rich who accompanied us for the 5 days Scotland trip. He was so amazing! The best ever guided tour I have seen before. He was friendly, helpful and very flexible with our plans and took a break stop whenever we requested. Thanks Rich for your service.

Amazing 5 day experience guided by Greg!
Sep 2020
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day tour with Greg, 28th sep onwards!
On day 6 I was definitely a little saddened to not be getting on the blue bus to see where we could explore next ;)

We had previously been to Scotland a few times but even with several weeks in the Highlands; it's certainly impossible to explore it all however!
On our solo trip last time... one thing was missing.. and that's the historic detail and facts of what you're actually looking at, standing on or walking around!
This is where Greg comes in - he was very informative and provided so many interesting facts and details along the way.

The roads are also tricky to navigate in some parts and to drive on those roads whilst providing lots of details en route is certainly a great trait to have!

You do spend a good amount of time off the bus and Greg ensured there were adequate breaks in between stops for a wee coffee or toilet break.
Overnight stays are in Oban, Portree and Inverness - all with their own amazing scenery.
Pretty much all of the stops were well timed. For feedback, possibly an extra 30 minutes at the Culloden battlefield, Beauly & Dunkeld would've been super.

We didn't know much at all about the accommodation we were staying in (we could've just asked..!) but the surprise was actually a very pleasant one. The B&B & hotels were lovely and cooked breakfast was available at all but one. (temporary measure though due to covid!)

Speaking of COVID - the bus seating arrangements were socially distanced, everyone wore masks... hand sanitizer was available and Greg regularly wiped the high touch points down when we were getting off at different spots. Really well done here guys!

Greg kindly stopped at some great viewpoints to allow us to get some fantastic pictures and most importantly, pictures of some lovely hairy coos!

I never knew much about Scottish history but this tour has certainly opened my eyes on how the clans worked and battled throughout the many years!

I thoroughly recommend taking the Jacobite steam train (aka hogwarts express!) and the Loch ness tour! As comfy as the bus is, these are two fantastic opportunities and to go over the famous Glenfinnan viaduct was something quite special indeed!
In terms of the boat tour... sadly no Nessie in the waters this time round - she is behaving by socially distancing for sure..! The weather was quite rainy on this day but that certainly added to the spooky atmosphere of Loch Ness. (it's amazing how deep it actually is!)

In summary... (before this ends up being a book ;) )
If you're looking to spend sometime in Scotland then I absolutely recommend Highland Explorer tours / Haggis Adventures.

We really enjoyed this trip and without a doubt - we will certainly be back in the future - most likely to explore the Outer Hebrides next and possibly with more family.
A big well done to Greg for all his time and knowledge, as well as keeping everyone safe! He is a credit to the team and definitely shouldn't be discouraged to ask for more reviews :)

We have had the most wonderful 5day trip thru the Highlands and Skye. The driver Rich Lawrence took us to places you wouldn’t normally see, he was so knowledgeable and made history come alive. The accommodation was fantastic 5 star , and we would do it all again in a heartbeat.

5-day tour of Highlands with Rich
Sep 2020
The tour was truly enjoyable. We were able to see the most beautiful outskirts of Scotland Highlands and learn a lot about the historic significance of each place we visited.

The highlights of the tour include the Jacobite train to Mallaig then visiting the countryside of Isle of Skye as well as feeding those cute hairy cows.

A huge thanks to Rich our guide because he made this tour authentic by sharing his personal stories. He was knowledgeable but also a very good story-teller and that made our learning experience so much fun.

Great trip, lovely people, and amazing guide Rich!
Sep 2020
Highly recommended. Highlight of the trip was for sure our guide Rich. We just finished a 5-day tour and we already plan to take another - lovely people and nice accommodation. Tour gives you a chance to see the best of Scotland and really get a taste of the country and its beauties.

I don’t remember the last time I laughed so much like I did while listening to Rich’s stories for the last 5 days. He is enthusiastic about his job and has an epic knowledge of Scotland – kings, castles, battles, national parks, big game hunting, local sport and local life, you name it, Rich knows it. It was a pleasure listening to him. I have a feeling I know Rich for 20 years because he showed us his hometown and shared ridiculously funny stories about his life. I definitely want to go to another tour with Rich! As a surprise at the end of our tour he took us to see hairy cows!

Also, during the whole trip Rich made sure all COVID measures were in place: masks and hand sanitiser in the bus, regular cleanings of the interior, and daily temperature checks.

Fantastic trip
Me and my partner had a fantastic 5 day trip with our tour guide Dougie. Even with COVID closing some things down we still saw loads. We had a few unforgettable experiences. First one was when we went to Doune Castle and we think Jamie from outlander was there filming so we attempted to get Dougies manikin version into filming. The second was being sung to by Davy Holt at Clava Cairns. And lastly we were given a whisky talk by Charlie and able to taste 3 different types of whisky!
