Not what we expected
Aug 2021
Our guide (Lauren) was friendly and pleasant but we didn't feel as if we were told everything we were expecting. For example, we expected some talk about the history starting around the Plantation era (as stated in the tour description). We got limited information about the Troubles themselves but no more than we knew already and to be honest we could have looked at the murals ourselves and read the posts with each one. Expecting a 90 minute tour ours ended after 60. We chose these tours after reading the reviews and expected something a bit more than what you'd get on other tours. For £50 for two of us, we left feeling a bit let down.

Hi, thank you for your review of your tour with us. I apologise if you didn't enjoy your tour with us. Lauren, your guide, is still in training for the next while and is still learning how things work like timing and tour depth. You should have gotten a lot more detail of the events covered in the tour, I take responsibility for this and apologise again. If you're both coming back to Derry contact me directly through Derry Guided Tours and I'll make sure that you are looked after with a complimentary tour of Derry.

Personal walking tour Bloody Sunday Bogside
Really personal & informative tour of the places and events of Bloody Sunday. Our guide was John, brother of one of the innocent peace marchers murdered on that day in history. It definitely pays to walk the area with someone who gas first hand knowledge of what happened then and also the political climate today. Would thoroughly recommend. Make sure you follow up with a visit to the Free Derry Museum.

Phenomenol experience

The insights and personal experiences that Gleann brings to this tour are what make it truly stand out above all other walking tours I've been on. Derry is a fascinating city and if we had more time there we would have taken Glenn's other tour. 100% go on this tour if you're in Derry!

Myself and my girlfriend had a great experience on the tour. Our guide Gleann was a gentleman and very knowledgeable. One of the best things we’ve done on our trip around Ireland. Derry is a very underrated city.

Derry guided tour
Oct 2020
If you are coming to Derry, and want to take a tour, take this one. Our guide Gleann was very informative and highly knowledgeable on the history of his City from its founding in 1603 (and before), right up to the modern day. Taking in the City Walls, and Derry Girls locations, we were then guided around Free Derry, the Murals, and the Bogside area, for a comprehensive and very personal tour of the history that lead to the Civil Rights protests, the 'Troubles', and then the Good Friday Agreement.
Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, we were unable to visit some of Gleanns Museum, pub and music recommendations on this occasion, but hopefully we will be able to on our next visit.

Walking around Derry
Gerry was very informative and discussed the troubles that afflicted the Irish population during the 60's through to the 2000's. He highlighted the major players of the conflict and described the murals we encountered around the Bogside in great detail. It was a great tour and well worth the cost, the benifit is that it was a private tour.
