Highlights
White water rafting in the Lachine Rapids
Choose the intensity level that’s right for you
Unique opportunity to try urban white-water rafting
No rafting experience necessary
What to expect
Make your way to LaSalle, a riverside spot near downtown Montreal, then start by suiting up in white-water safety gear. If you’ve chosen the Adventure Rafting experience, you’ll paddle hard to get into the most intense waves on the Saint Lawrence River. Take on waves with names like Big John, Outétoucos, Louis Leap, and Devil’s Drop, for a wild ride in the heart of Montreal. If you choose the Family Rafting option, float to a calmer section of the Lachine Rapids; the Class I and Class II rapids are still wet and exciting, but they're a better fit for rafters of all ages. Before heading back to share, cool off with a dip in the Saint Lawrence River, the perfect end to a fun rafting adventure.

Awesome Experience!
Sep 2019
My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time rafting. Our guide was great, the price was fair, and the river was great - exciting, but not too intense for first-time rafters. Overall an excellent experience.

Happily Ever Rafters! :)

What an amazing end to our Canada trip! Our guide Sammy was amazing, very entertaining, and provided a great history lesson about the river as well as a thrilling time. We went on the "adventure" trip, and had a blast! It was just the right amount of thrill. We were able to swim during a calm stretch - the water was much warmer than expected - about 75F. There are restrooms for changing, and you can leave car keys at the booth during your trip. We definitely recommend this excursion!

Lots of down time and not as "family" oriented as advertised
Aug 2019
We signed up for the "family" trip, which is not supposed to be too intense, only class 1 0r 2 rapids. We were not really able to tell the difference between our tour and the other rafts, which where supposed to be doing the "adventure." We had four fairly young kids and a grandfather in our boat. This means that you can't get the power you need to direct the boat as well as you would want, yet we seemed to be on the same route. Some of these rapids were quite intense and had waves of 4-5 feet.

In one of the early waves two of the young girls and a strong and large man all fell out of the boat during one of the rapids. It was quite scary for one of the little girls, and she was crying at first. To her credit, she recovered. We ending up getting so much water in our raft that we were unable to do the last part of the rapids (last 30%?) and we sat still (not floating downstream) for almost 30 minutes, waiting for the other boats to come.

I realize that there are many factors out of their control--how high the water is, and the shifting of rocks below that affect the rapids. But the supposed opportunity to choose the level of intensity that's right for you, didn't seem accurate to me.

What a Blast! Summer Fun at its Finest.
Aug 2019
My brother and I decided to go rafting while our wives shopped in Montreal. Despite being 68 and 72 year old Floridians, we are in good health and had a long history of involvement in active water sports...so what the heck! Turns out we were the oldest by far, maybe twice as old as most of the other 45 or so rafters in our group of four boats. It was a great time for all with some lighthearted splashing and competition among the boats. We had perfect warm weather, an entertaining bi-lingual guide, Jules, and some exciting moments diving into the bottom of the boat to barely hang on through "Big John," the final thrilling rapid. After that, there was a calm paddle and a refreshing swim that wasn't the cold ice water we expected in Canada. Yes, we were soaked, but happy about the experience and they drove us back to our dry clothes safely stowed in a free locker. The owner, Vanessa, is a jewel. I left a wet polo shirt behind and she personally delivered it to my hotel 13 kilometers away! Thanks, Vanessa! Take a break from urban life and get back to nature in this affordable little adventure in the Lachine River. The ladies won't remember the shopping, but we will always remember Big John and the friendly people aboard our raft.

Fantastic experience for first time rafters!
Aug 2019 • Family
Our family of six had a blast on this excursion. Our kids are 13, 11, 10, and 9, and the rafting experience was tailored to the people on the boat so that it was just adventurous enough, but not too overwhelming. Our guide, Mike, was knowledgeable and good natured, and did a great job answering questions and encouraging us when our arms hurt from paddling against the wind. It really was a once in a lifetime experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone with a sense of adventure!

Super Montreal water activity
Aug 2019 • Friends
I grew up in Montreal but I took my cousin who was visiting from Portugal on a fantastic rafting ride in the Lachine rapids. I too had never experienced this activity and we both had a blast! Highly recommend. It’s for the adventurous but very safe.

A splash of FUN!
Jul 2019 • Friends
I was lodging in the Old Port for a short trip in Montreal, so I was thinking of going to Saute-Mouton for a ride in the rapids, but one of my friends tipped me off that Rafting Montreal was better.
So I gave it a go!
--> They explore the two rapids of Montreal (Saute-Mouton goes only in one of them, from what I've heard).
--> Sit in the front if you want the maximum splash. You'll have thrills for sure.
--> Overall expedition was really nice and all the staff I've spoken to were fluent in english.
--> They make the trip feel like it's an incredible value for money, and it is. I've done jetboating in many places around the world, this was by far the best AND the cheapest. Thanks Montreal!
--> Also, I stayed in the big park where it's located for a walk after, it was great. I just wish I brought a picnic!
