Interesting and delicious!
Feb 2020
Robert who guides the tours is such a knowledgeable and lovely person. We seemed to have him all to ourselves on our trip.

His amazingly kind and welcoming, with tons of knowledge about the food, area and history. We enjoyed every single food sample that we were introduced to - and such a great way for a foodie to look around granville !!!

we would happily book this up again and do it all over - you will come away wanting to buy everything so be warned haha!!

The best way to experience Granville Island market!!
Feb 2020 • Couples
We had an amazing time with Robert on this tour. We were so impressed by everything we learned, from food origins to different pairings, as well as all of the delicious local foods we got to try. Robert was so knowledgeable and kind, and the touring style was very conversational, which made it very interactive and enjoyable – I couldn’t imagine experiencing the island any other way!

Super fun foodie tour to experience the market with knowledgeable guide
Dec 2019
Our family of 5 had an awesome experience as Robert lead us around the market and provided not only the knowledge of the food and vendors but the history of the area as well. It felt very personable and we enjoyed so many samples. Even though there were some different preferences among us we all enjoyed trying unique things and it was a great way to dive in to something new for us all. Robert did a great job engaging everyone in our group which I appreciated too.

Custom tailored tour from a knowledgeable tour guide
Oct 2019
After a slight delay in the start of our tour, we met Robert who immediately began by asking us about our backgrounds. Then we went into the market and sampled some of the shops and stalls that were in the market. All in all, we were surprised at the diversity of the food available. The quality was also excellent and Bob was really casual yet knowledgeable. Those brooms though, pity about the biosecurity laws in Australia...

Fun foodie tour
Sep 2019 • Couples
My husband and I visited Vancouver this past weekend and we took the walking food tour through the Granville market. Our guide, Rohan was not only super friendly but also a well informed foodie. He knew the market very well and had tons of knowledge to share. He also was helpful with lots of great suggestions for other great places to dine in the city. Overall, super fun and I would recommend this tour to anyone who is into food culture.

Great time learning and eating our way through Granville market
Our tour with Bob through the Granville Island public market was great. Bob was able to accommodate our group of 5 the night before the tour which was very much appreciated! We learned a lot about the island and the food in the market. You’ll get to sample a wide variety of items, including candied salmon, cheeses, pickles, chocolates, olives, macaroons, a delicious chai tea latte, and some sake! The sake tasting is an additional cost but well worth it. The tour really helps give you an idea of what the public market has to offer and makes you feel more comfortable in navigating through it. Bob made the tour really enjoyable and fun. He was also able to give us some recommendations for food around the city. If we had more time, we would definitely have done the Chinatown tour as well.

As the tour starts at 3, I would recommend having an earlier or lighter lunch. The food on the tour isn’t as much as a full meal, but you don’t want to be full going into it either.

Great food tour with Robert.
Aug 2019
I've been on a few food tours that included prepared food at restaurants. This one is a tour of a large market. Great fun. We learned a lot about the area and sampled food along the way. It was a wonderful market to visit and with a guide. Robert was informative and keeps the tour to just a few people. The market gets crowded so the small group is good. This is not a stuff yourself tour. Think samples. We were happy with our food samples. Definitely on the to do list!

Perfect Tour
May 2019
Bob leads a fantastic tour.

We tried so many delicious foods. A range of products from tea, to sweets, to produce, meats, vinegars, cheese, etc. Granville has so many stalls and we tried MANY of them. He even took us to a local Sake Distillery (additional cost for tasting) that was a surprise, and one of my favorite stops! We stayed around after the tour to continue our tasting, including visiting and purchasing products from the shops we had visited with Bob.

Bob has a unique way of guiding, which I appreciated. He used questions to engage the conversation and make us think about what we were tasting. From a Chef's perspective, he wonders "what would you pair this with?" and asks us, his passengers. It was beautifully done.

Bob was also nice enough to give us recommendations for Chinatown, when we were unable (due to schedules) to take his Chinatown tour too. We went to get Dim Sum right away, the very next morning, and ordered his recommendations.

He really is the best.
