Overview
Take advantage of this Super Saver combining two best-selling tours in Mexico City at a discounted price. In one day, uncover the colonial charms of Coyoacán and then ride in a ‘trajinera’ down the UNESCO-listed waterways of Xochimilco, where you can buy snacks right from your boat. Walk around North America's oldest university and admire its Central Campus, another World Heritage site. Fans of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera will enjoy their former residence, Casa Azul, and receive an intimate look into the artists' turbulent yet productive partnership.
Highlights
  • Full-day combo-tour to Coyoacán, Frida Kahlo Museum, Xochimilco, and more
  • Walk through a neighborhood with pre-Hispanic roots
  • Boat tour through Xochimilco canals and floating gardens
  • Convenient pickup and drop-off at central locations in Mexico City
What to Expect
Make your way to a meeting point in downtown Mexico City, then start exploring Coyoacán, whose cobblestone streets are lined with historic mansions. As you walk, the guide will share the pre-Hispanic background of the area, now a hot spot for Mexico City creatives. Continue to the National Autonomous University of Mexico and walk through the UNESCO-listed campus, which includes murals by artists Diego Rivera and Juan O´Gorman. Pause for a lunch break (at your own expense) at Jardín Hidalgo, visit the Church of San Juan Bautista, and head to the Frida Kahlo Museum, or Coyoacán Casa Azul, where you’ll have an hour of free time. After your tour of Coyoacán, head to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Xochimilco, whose tradition of floating islands dates to Aztec times. You’ll travel through the canals on a trajinera, a colorful, flat-bottom boat, with the option to purchase snacks from floating vendors. The tour concludes at the original departure point.

The current price for this tour is on the website. We probably paid around US$70 per person. It is not a private tour. Our tour filled a large bus and it was split into an English version and a Spanish version.
