Overview
Yes! It's a real submarine. Take an exciting voyage to the depths of 130 feet below the Caribbean sea. Join Atlantis Submarines, voted Aruba's most outstanding attraction, on an unforgettable guided tour aboard the largest passenger submarine fleet in the world. Suitable for ages 4 and up, the submarine is U.S. Coast Guard approved, environmentally friendly and fully air-conditioned.
Highlights
  • Submarine expedition to see Aruba's underwater world while staying dry
  • Suitable for guests of all fitness and ability levels
  • Children over age four are welcome
  • Full safety briefing before the tour ensures security and comfort
What to Expect
Begin your adventure in downtown Oranjestad, where you’ll get a safety briefing and orientation at the tour center. Then step aboard the tour’s surface vessel for transfer to the submarine. This technologically advanced passenger submarine, certified by the U.S. Coast Guard, makes it possible for even nonswimmers and small children to dive deep below the surface of Aruba’s waters. Grab a window seat in the submarine and prepare for the dive. Get views of marine life on the Barcadera Reef and see two local shipwrecks. Learn about the marine life you see, the reef ecosystem, and the history of the crashed ships through your crew’s informative commentary. After you surface and head back to land, you’ll receive an official dive certificate to take home.

It was an amazing experience to go to the bottom of the ocean. We ended up going about 140 feet below. The views of the coral reef and the marine life on the way down was spectacular! Just be sure to purchase a roundtrip ticket!!!...More

Never been on a sub before so that is cool. Little pricey but I would definitely recommend if you never been in a sub. No need to do more than once tho.

I would say no, there are stairs down to the “basement” of the boat where the glass windows are. Also, the transition from boat to boat would be difficult.
