Overview

If you want to get underwater views in Aruba without getting wet, book ahead to reserve your spot in the Seaworld Explorer semi-submarine, with a submerged observatory for underwater views of fish and marine life through glass windows. Even if scuba and snorkeling aren't your thing, you still get to see underwater highlights such as the the SS Antilla, and the Arashi reef, accompanied by insightful commentary from your guide.

What to Expect

Hop aboard a transfer boat departing from Oranjestad's De Palm Pie to be taken out to the Seaworld Explorer. Meet your guide, who will share historical and ecological facts about the sights as you travel.

With dry clothing, you get views from the vessel's glassed-in, submerged viewing space of Arashi reef, teeming with tropical fish and other marine life. In contrast to snorkeling, during the submarine tour you can hear insightful commentary from your guide about the types of coral and fish you see.

The next stop is the Antilla, a 423-foot (128-meter) German ship sunk during World War II. Snap photos of the colossal boat and its marine inhabitants, while your guide details history of the ship.

After 90 minutes, you return to shore by boat.

Angie was great

Angie was very informative on this wonderful boat ride and submarine tour. She kept us entertained and informed to keep the seasickness at bay! It was a wonderful tour worth the price! Thanks from Momma Badger!

wonderful experience

Everything about this experience was great. The instructor, the view of the fish, the view of the sunken ship. Only thing is if you are way in the back it is hard to heard what is being said (but nothing can be done about that)....More

On my recent trip to Aruba I needed activities for my young children, this was perfect. They loved being underwater and seeing the fish from a different perspective. They thought the shipwreck was really cool. Our tour guide, Angie, was fantastic. Everyone was very nice...More
