    What to Expect
Embark on a bumpy ride in the Alaskan backcountry on this 3.5-hour 4-wheel safari truck adventure in Denali National Park. After hotel pickup, head to the park entrance to meet your driver-guide.

Your destination: the Stampede Trail. This forgotten road, not shown on most maps even today, was carved out of the wilderness by the miners of the Kantishna region who sought gold. This is the very same trail that Christopher McCandless, of Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild, took to enter the wilds of Alaska.

The Stampede Road begins paved but turns into a primitive, muddy trail after just a few miles. On a clear day, you might just see Denali (formerly Mt McKinley). With the help of your guide, keep watch for caribou, moose, bears, and foxes.

Stop along the way at points of interest and to explore the open tundra. Enjoy a hearty Alaskan snack before winding your way back to civilization with memorable stories and photos to share.

Enjoyed the tour of the back country. Make sure to dress appropriately as our day was very chilly and drizzly ! Nate and Steve were very friendly and informative about the area and it’s history. Learned so much about Alaska ! Fun, bumpy ride through the back roads of Stampede

Disappointing Just a bumpy ride on muddy road. No commentary on what to see, flora,, fauna, etc. Got stories about our guide’s trail clearing efforts and other people who got stuck in the mud. Also about stupid people who tried to see “the bus” from INTO THE WILD ( which was

We took the 13 hour tour as far into Denali as possible (92 miles). It was amazing. Saw 13 grizzlies, moose, caribou, dall sheep and a huge black bear. The fall colors were amazingly beautiful. The driver stops for all wildlife sightings and at request for photo ops. Lunch in

Travis and Stephen made this a really fun and exciting tour. We saw 5 moose in total on our excursion. Stephen provides great information on the area, and all it has to offer. I would recommend going as early as possible in the morning. Great staff and fun way to get the day

If you are looking for history on the stampede trail and the Denali Park area then this is the trip for you. The guides all had a ton of knowledge about the area, as well as the famed "magic bus". Beautiful location at base camp with the fire pit.
