DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR IF YOU WANT A TOUR GUIDE
Our tour did not have a guide or photographer! The morning started badly with no one to meet us in the reception of our hotel. After phone calls and emails we were connected with our driver, who we wrongly assumed was our guide. We discovered at our first stop that he knew nothing about the sites we were to visit and that he was only the driver, the guide had not shown up. So extremely disappointing as we had paid over $1,000 Au$ for what we thought would be an insight into the places visited. We complained to Viator and did receive a 30% refund., however I believe this is unsatisfactory. I have since read a google review where someone else had the same experience

        Really enjoyed this tour!
We did this tour in April 2024 with our guide Mukarram and really enjoyed it. We first went Kamakura and then to Enoshima, where we had lunch at a very good tempura restaurant (Mukarram helped us order). Enoshima interesting place as surfing is very popular there. Mukarram was punctual for our morning pickup, his van was comfortable and clean. Just a note: There is no "photographer" but Mukarram was happy to take some photos of us!

Bad experience, we wouldn’t recommend this company .
Bad experience. We don’t recommend this company. We spent 9 hr in a car and we just saw a water fall. We were 6 including two grandmothers , a kid and my daughter who has a disability. The guide didn’t know the itinerary and he didn’t follow the itinerary they offered us. . When we arrive to the unesco site it was closed because he took us as a first place to the falls. We wanted to go to Nikko and the UNESCO heritage site and instead he took us to A place very cold and difficult to walk by because of the snow. . He didn’t even take us The family Pictures as they offered. No organization at all. We asked for a partial refund which I think it’s fair due the circumstances. We traveled from a different country far away and a day in Japan is unique and expensive and if we had known about the lack of professionalism of the company we would have looked for another activity to spend our money and time. This was the company answer.” 😕: “‘ “ We regret to hear about the circumstances surrounding your refund request. Viator strives to make every attempt to address our customers' concerns. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to offer a refund. We apologize that you were not able to fulfill your travel plans, and hope that we may be of service to you in your future travels. Great day and great guide
We had a wonderful day exploring Nikko despite it being rainy. We had forgotten umbrellas but Haris out guide had some to lend to us. Haris provided explanations of the different shrines and history and suggested restaurants for us to eat at lunch time. He was a great guide and we organised another tour with him off the back of this tour. He was knowledgeable and gave local context to the different areas we visited. A great day!

Efficient and punctual with a very nice driver!
We did two day tours to Nikko and Fuji with Live Nippon/Tour Master. They arrange a custom schedule for us for the Fuji tour so that we could go to the Fuji Safari park. Communication was fairly easily despite English being a second language and arrangements were made rapidly. On-the-day communication via WhatsApp was excellent and the people carrier arranged was clear and comfortable. Haris, our driver, was very friendly, punctual and great with our kids! Overall, a very positive experience.

        Historical and beautiful family tour
Shoaib was an excellent driver and guide for a full day tour of Nikko and area from Tokyo for our family of 6. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Japan including of Nikko Toshogu. Live Nippon and Shoaib were very accommodating in customizing the tour for our family, including young children. Nikko is over 2 hours from Tokyo by van, but I would recommend this day trip to get a bit of history and some beautiful views of Japan.

A nice day trip to Nikko
Nikko was well worth the side trip for the Toshugu Shrine alone (one of the best we saw across several cities in Japan). Haris made our trip comfortable, with nice local context and driving skills. He offered to move the car for my elderly parents making their journey more enjoyable. Unlike other day tours to Hakone (and maybe this is because the entry to the shrine and falls are not included so the guide did not come with us), this was more of a driver-as-guide and not a true guide where they explain about the sites and history. The description says there is Wifi on the bus and there was not… a minor detail. Overall an enjoyable day with Haris who was accommodating and friendly.

        Wonderful Time.
My wife and I were lucky to have Sebastian as our tour guide. He’s English and Japanese is superb! He drove us safely around the Kamakura area. Kamakura is so rich with history and Sebastian was remarkable in providing details. He knows its history and we really appreciated how he explained the difference between Shinto Shrine and Buddhist Temple. He gave us enough time to explore the area during lunchtime just to ourselves too! We went to see the The Big Budha in Kotoku-in Temple. We saw hundreds of Small Buddha in Hasa-dera Temple. We walked around the Bamboo Gardens in Hokokuji Shrine, this place is so serene. We also stopped at the High steps of Tsurugaoka Shrine and had pictures with hundreds of empty Barrels of Sake in display at Hachimangu Shrine. Our last stop before heading back to Tokyo is Enoshima Island. On the way there we drove by the coast beach of Inamuragasaki, but it was gloomy that day Mount Fuji can’t be seen but it was still nice to have some breeze from Vitamin Sea of Japan. And with all these sights seeing, Sebastian took beautiful pictures of us. Thanks so much Sebastian for this splendid experience.

Special Tateyama Alpen Route, Murodo Snow Wall
We had a special tailored trip to Tateyama Alpen Route to experience the Snow Wall in June! Imagine that, snow in June. It was a learning trip as we have no idea what to expect and what to really do. It was also Live Nippon's first trip of this kind. We are absolutely thrilled to be on this learning journey together. Farroukh is such a patient and gentle giant. He was just like another family member on our journey. We were so blown away by the sights of the Murodo mountain top, the fresh air at Tengudaira. The cozy wonderful hospitality at the Tengudaira Mountain Lodge. All these made come thru with the expertise of Khizar and Farroukh. Special thanks to Farroukh for driving us to and back from tokyo, This was perfect trip and we look forward to trips with these guys.

        Disappointed
When I make the reservation for a one day tour, it should include a driver and a guide. There were 7 of us and we paid $902 and the whole bus to ourselves. To our disappointment we only had a driver who knows nothing about the history or culture of the places of interest. His job is to pick us up bring us to the places we need to visit and that’s about it. Anyone out there beware you could fall into this situation like us,

Our guide/driver Rehan Ghazi was friendly, extremely helpful, and eager to share his vast knowledge about not only the attractions we visited, but also the country in general. The weather was unfortunately foggy the day of our tour, but Rehan arranged the itinerary to maximize our time there, patiently describing the route he'd propose, and was very receptive to our preferences. The restaurant he brought us to for lunch was also superb - great local fare at a reasonable price. Additionally, Rehan was attentive to one of my friends who became car sick from the windy drive down- which was really appreciated. Overall, it was a comfortable tour during which we felt well taken care of!

Haseeb was our tour guide for this trip and he was super friendly and helpful. The itinerary was highly customisable and when we were speeding through some of the attractions, Haseeb offered to take us to a traditional bathhouse and it was aMAZING. I felt completely spirited away! If you go to the bathhouse, I recommend after paying for your entry, select and pay for a private bath for an hour and you can sit in the onsen and look at Mount Fuji. It is beautiful.

As for the tour, we were unlucky with the weather, and couldn't get up to station 5, and we also could not see most of Mount Fuji but many of the places we went were great anyway.

I would recommend doing this tour with a bigger group to keep the costs down, as it is pretty expensive to split between 2 people.

It was a very comfortable vehicle with a friendly guide who spoke excellent English.
It was an extremely busy day to go to Mt Fuji. A gorgeous Saturday in March. We had communicated with the tour company about 5 places we wanted to see prior to the tour and were told to let our guide know when he arrived. The guide was told nothing about this. We paired our list down to 3 places.
We ended up being able to see only 2.
The traffic was so bad it took an hour to get to the Owakudani ropeway parking lot. After much confusion finding where to get tickets we then waited in a Disney type of line to get to the cable car. Due to lost time we were told only to go to the first stop of the cable car. Once there the view was very difficult to find and not great. (It turns out that stop is really for people staying at a hotel.) The best view for us was from the parking lot. The ropeway stop took up much of the day for very little return.
We did get to see the Hakone Open Air Museum, which we loved, but we only were able to have 30 mins there. We were told to cut the sculpture museum visit short so we would have time to see a traditional village. We never got to the Village because we lost so much time at the Ropeway.
If the company had worked with us on itinerary ahead of time we could have had a better result.
We thought having a private tour would give us more flexibility than we did. They could not extend the tour by even an hour so that we could see a bit more even though we offered to pay for it.

Our guide Shoaib was in our hotel at the appointed time, he gave us a brief description of the tour, what is included and what are our options. Our group of six has one elderly and a 5 year old kid. We chose the light snd easy option, no need to rush but enjoy each place we chose to go to. Shoaib was very accommodating and he made sure we catch the ferry that goes around the lake, that we don’t waste time waiting for lunch at restaurant and that we are able to catch the great sight of Mt Fuji just before sunset. Overall trip was well worth it, we will surely take another trip like this next time we are in Japan!

This was an excellent tour. A friend and I did this tour on 1/16/23 and the weather was terrible. We didn’t get to see the mountain at all but our guide HASEEB! Was the bright spot in all of it an he went out of his way for us. He was early picking us up. He suggested an alternative it itinerary that was helpful and he was extremely polite and accommodating. It was pouring raining almost the whole time and his driving was perfect the entire way there and back. He just wanted to make sure we enjoyed our time and we did. I would most certainly recommend this tour and give it a 5 Star review 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Most attentive tour guide ever! Rehan treated us like treasured relatives continuously watching out for us on stairs, uneven sidewalks, etc., and making sure that we were very comfortable and well fed. He made sure we saw subtle details throughout the trip. He is an excellent and very patient driver in a very comfortable car. He is also an excellent and prolific photographer, by the end of the day he had taken more photos than we even had for our wedding (many years ago). We appreciated the hotel pick-up and private tour over the large group bus trips and think the added expense was well worth while. Certainly the traffic on the return trip was annoying (we napped) compared to taking the train back, but the personal care was well worth it.

We had an amazing day touring the Mt. Fuji area on Sunday, March 20 with our tour guide/driver, Rehan Ghazi. He was communicative, punctual, knowledgeable, friendly, and a safe driver! There were 7 of us in total and because he knew that we had kids with us, he made sure that the van he selected for the day would be spacious for the kids on the long drive and we really appreciated that. Ghazi created an itinerary that ensured we saw multiple sites with clear views of Mt. Fuji and he always had great suggestions for where to take the best pictures. When he saw perfect spots for pictures, he offered to take photos of our group and the photos he took were fantastic. Ghazi went above and beyond as a guide, including introducing us to kusamochi in Oshino Hakkai, facilitating our purchase of tickets for the cruise on Kawaguchi Lake and not only making lunch reservations for us at a delicious traditional Japanese restaurant, but staying with us until our party was called and we were seated.

Thank you so much Ghazi for making our trip to Japan so memorable! We highly recommend this tour!

We were disappointed with this trip. The day started off with our guide locating us and telling us he was trying to get ahold of us the night before to see if we could leave earlier to beat traffic, so he seemed irritated with us to begin with. I told him I didn’t receive the whatsapp messages since the WiFi at our air bnb wasn’t working, but he showed me the messages as if I didn’t believe him. It was a rainy day and apparently we had the option to cancel, and if we would have known our tour would have been cut 3 hours early and we missed out on a lot of things during it, I would have cancelled. I think we should get a partial refund, as we couldn’t do the speedboat or cable car since it was closed, and our guide recommended we not do the pagoda because he said we would be climbing 500 steps to ‘not see mt fuji because of the rain.’
The “photographer” was our tour guide, who offered to take pictures of us 3 different spots with our phones, so definitely it worth extra money. Buyer beware. He spent a good portion of the time while he was driving taking on his phone to other people, and at the markets he took us to we felt rushed and didn’t realize we had the option to look around for souvenirs. My husband’s leg was hurting him and there were a few stops he wasn’t able to get out of the van, but when he was talking to our guide he mentioned liking one of the stops and our guide replied “what do you mean, you’ve been staying in the car.” Rude, uncalled for, and not appreciated. We were not happy with this tour guide (Zia).
In the end he did end up dropping us off at the train station as we requested since we were flying home, but the trip was cut 3 hours short and was not worth half the price we paid. It was not a memorable or happy way to spend our last day in Japan, and I would not recommend this tour to anybody.

My family and I had the pleasure of having Haseeb as our guide for the day. Haseeb arrived on time in the morning, but unfortunately my family was running late and he patiently waited for us. His car was a new, well-maintained 10 seater and we had a very comfortable journey throughout the day.

Haseeb would recommend activities to do and foods to eat at every stop point. The grape ice cream at Oishi park was an amazing recommendation! He also doubled up as a photographer at times, taking family photos of us and they would always be perfect. Haseeb is an extremely patient guide, also checking in on whether we needed the restroom between driving to destinations.

We made about 4-5 stops, but could have probably fit a bit more in had my family not been late at the start. Additionally, I had forgotten to take my sun glasses at the end of the trip and left them in his car. Haseeb very kindly went out of his way to return the glasses to me the next day!!!

Unfortunately Mt Fuji was mostly clouded on the day we went, but we had a lot of fun on the tour and would 100% do it again and 110% with Haseeb! Highly recommend if you need a private tour!

Thanks to our thoughtful and friendly guide, Zohaib, our family of 9 managed to spend a wonderful day at around the Mt. Fuji area soaking up the best sights.

The tour was well planned and Zohaib even considered the weather forecast when sequencing the day’s itinerary and exercised a high degree of flexibility as well.

We had a great time and I would recommend this tour to anyone who had limited time and wishes to maximise your day at the Mt. Fuji area.
