      Kingfisher Lake Skadar boat trip
Awesome boat trip on the lake, very relaxing, great price and loads of information from Peter our captain. Couldn't fault it, well worth it and would recommend it for anyone

Excellent boat tour on Lake Skadar
Would highly recommend the boat trip and Kingfisher. Excellent information was provided before the visit in order to arrange a tour for someone who had hurt their knee. Milica was brilliant in choosing the best boat option for access. We booked a private tour for two people for 3-4 hours. There was flexibility to do 3 or 4 and the captain asked us what we wanted to do at the turnaround point for 3 hours. Balsa was an excellent skipper and provided just the right amount of information. The scenery was stunning. Never seen a snake swimming before, nor pelicans. Thank you for the loan of the binoculars. Shame we are going home tomorrow or we would have rebooked!

      Fantastic trip with George
Great trip and fantastic guide, George. We had two kids 10 & 11 who were amazed by the tour and swimming in the sea. The blue caves were great and james bond music in the submarine tunnels were nice touches. Recommend for anyone looking for a good trip and worth the money.

Wonderful boat trip and nice wine!
Excellent relaxing tour to experience Lake Skadar and see it’s beauty. Our tour guide was very knowledgable on the different wildlife of the lake. Very nice local wines to try onboard - the nicest we had during our time in Montenegro.

Perfect tour if you only have half a day left.
I missed my first tour but the lady was kind enough to put on the next. It didn’t include dom monastery but totally worth it. The tour guide was extremely professional and knowledgeable. Provided wine, also picked water chestnuts from the lake for us to try. Overall, very satisfied with my experience. Would definitely recommend going with them.

      Stunning lake
It’s stunning lake and would be perfect if you go private or with small group. Also I guess it’s better to go either in the early morning or to see sunset. Pelicans are only in Albanian side unfortunately.

      beautiful lake, disappointing guide
Tour was very well organized (meeting point, check-in, boarding) and stuff was very friendly. However, not much guidance. I was hoping for some information about fauna and flora in this beautiful scenery, but nothing was said. Basically tour guide wasn't speaking much, more interested in own mobile phone. We learned where the restaurant is, where the old prison was and how much fisherman earns. That's all during 2h tour. This was very disappointing, as well the warm drinks served during the boat tour (warm wine or warm juice). Therefore overall experience I rate 2/5.

Bespoke Birdwatching tour to see the Dalmatian pelican
We went on our tour in April 2023. The customer service was great and made very easy, we arranged our tour the night before using WhatsApp and specified we wanted to go on a bird watching tour. We met our captain early the following morning where he greeted us with fruit tea, blankets, binoculars, and bird spotting books. Although it was emphasised to us that they couldn’t promise we would see the Dalmatian pelican our captain used all of his expertise to try and locate one. Much to our delight it was successful! The early start and cold breeze was worth it. Our tour continued and we even managed to spot a kingfisher. I would highly recommend this tour to any keen bird spotters.

Lovely afternoon out on Lake Skadar
Lovely little trip out. The town of Virpazar doesn’t have much else to do so make sure you book an appropriate time. There wasn’t any benefit to me booking in advance in the end and all the tours seemed to be the same price on arrival anyway. Regardless, really nice hosts, lovely views and informative guides.

      Beautiful views
My husband and I did the 6-hour tour on the third day of our trip and we both loved it. Our guide, Bakip (not sure about the spelling) was great, always slowing down the boat when we passed by birds and drawing our attention to them. This isn't the type of tour where the guide shares so many facts with you that you can't remember all of them, but is rather a relaxing boat ride through a beautiful lake to a cute little village for lunch. Unfortunately it started downpouring on our way back, but Bakip did a good job of keeping our spirits up and the rain added another later of beauty to the area. We were served local wine and traditional Montenegrin breakfast fried dough, both of which were delicious. I recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the Lake Skadar area and spend a relaxing day in nature.

Amazing trip and nature of Lake Skadar
Our trip was on July 9. Departure was at 11:30 a.m., returning around 6 p.m., without delay. During the tour, we were served drinks (local wine and drink water) and warm homemade donuts "priganice" with honey! The route of the trip is lovely! There were two stops for swimming in the lake. The boat ride was leisurely so we could enjoy the local fauna and nature. Then there was a 1-hour stop in Rijeka Crnojevica. This is more than enough to explore this picturesque village. There are restaurants, and you can relax. We liked our guide. His interaction with passengers is 10 out of 10. Therefore, we did not quite understand some of the previous reviews about the boring trip and the lack of frequent stories from the guide. He didn't tell much, but it allowed us to enjoy the local scenery fully. In addition, he always slowed down the boat when we saw a new bird so that we could photograph it if possible. He is very friendly and outgoing. Another important point... we were lucky that there were no russians among the passengers. It is always nice to be in the company of adequate people:). To finalize, all the staff of Kingfisher were great from the beginning to the end. We can say that our expectations were exceeded. It is one of the best companies you can choose in Virpazar! Hello to your guide from Ukraine...I think his name was Vranas or Branas. Sorry if I wrote it wrong :).

Our highest recommendation! Great tour and friendliness!
We took a 3 hours tour with our 10 and 12 years kids! Perfectly organized, genuine and friendly! The boat is a traditional one and has a shelter so all passengers (ca 12-14 people, sitting all comfortably) have shadow. The scenaries are amazing! Definitely worth a visit! We were offered some local wine tasting and some delicious typical breakfast snack. Best of all is the friendliness and prompt answes before booking! Thanks Milica and Philip (our driver!) . We definitely will recommend you to all our friends! Hope to see you again somewhere in Montenegro or Sweden! Take care!

Refreshing, scenic tour of Lake Skadar!
Our tour guide welcomed us with amazing local pastries. He was a thoughtful skipper willing to accommodate the high temps by stopping for dips in the cool water. Plenty of water and local wine and introduction to local plant and bird life. Highly recommended excursion

I took a 3hour boat ride to the monastery from 4 pm. It was very beautiful. There was also local donuts and wine tasting. The only thing I didn't like so much was the promised swimming in the lake. It was happening in the middle of the lake. I would prefer going somewhere to the coast and swim from there.

Amazing views, capitan Petar was very friendly and kind, he shared a lot of information about the lake. We also got to taste typical red and white wine and also got a snack😋 We also stopped near water lilies to take really beautiful pictures. Almosy at the end of the tour we also stopped in the middle of the lake and were albe to go swimming for a few minutes. It was really nice. Highly recommend.😁

Very professional people to deal with. We decided to book an extra hour when we boarded the private boat for 4 and they were flexible enough to let us do this. We had a lovely, young boat captain who was most obliging. A lovely day; the highlight of our holiday in Montenegro. I would say an unmissable experience. The lake is gorgeous with its bulrushes and lilies.

Baki was our friendly captain for this lovely and relaxing excursion. The best boat trips don’t have endless commentary on events and locations which we will forget almost immediately upon hearing, but simply allow you to relax and take in the beauty. No commentary necessary.

The overall experience left me a bit underwhelmed. The fortress of Lesendro was never pointed out to us or spoken about by the guide. On the website it says you can explore the bird reserve (I assume it meant the whole national park) but there really weren't many birds, not a great variety of species to see, and they were all very far away, hard to see even with binoculars. The monastery Kom, it was quite nice walking around the grounds but the monastery itself was closed, would've been nice to go inside. After the monastery, it was a straight boat drive back to Virpazar for over an hour and that got very boring.

I was hoping the guide would stop somewhere to let us go for a swim in the lake, as it says on the website, but he never did! Very disappointing, since that was promised on the itinerary.

But with good weather like we had, the lake was beautiful, nice people in charge of the boat cruise, nice boat, the water, wine and homemade doughballs were a really nice touch too.

Dear Ben, We are sincerely sorry that you had an experience last year with our company, which left you underwhelmed. We are sad and disappointed that our guide did not fulfil its job and satisfy your wishes and needs. Before all, we are sorry that the itinerary wasn't done as promised. As a manager and representative, I feel disappointed that you did not get what you expected and quite frankly - there are no excuses. On the other hand, I know that now there's nothing to do to improve your impressions of our previous encounter. I will ask you to come and visit again whenever you come by - we will provide you with a tour at our expense. Hopefully, we will show you Lake Skadar and its surroundings in a better and more enjoyable way. Thank you for taking the time to write your sincere words. It means a lot for us to get your feedback as we constantly aim to improve our business and satisfy every traveller we host. Once again, we are sorry for any bad feelings and inconveniences that have been caused by individuals in our company. Regards, KINGFISHER TEAM Milica Vujošević

    Can't recommend Kingfisher enough!

We went with the 3hr boat tour, that included time to visit a Monastery and lake swimming - there was also complementary drinks (water and wine) as well as fresh Priganice (Montenegrin doughnuts)
For the money you pay, this is the best value thing I've done on any holiday. Beautiful scenery, great wildlife.

If you sit closer to the driver in the boat, he gives some really helpful commentary about the history and geography of the lake.
If you're happy to sit at the front and take in the stunning views of Lake Skadar, you can just sit at the front and take it all in.

Additionally, we had to check out of our apartment before we had the tour and the Kingfisher staff held our luggage for us before we were moving to our next destination - so easy and very helpful!

We did this trip which is meant to be a birdwatching trip with a stop at a Monastery and a stop for a swim in the lake. We did enjoy it but the guide did not talk about the birds, the Monastery which was disappointing. The views from the small boat are beautiful. Wine, water and cake was provided
