Overview
Navigating Japan’s public transport system can often be a daunting task. Let a guide do the work for you on this tour of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashi by coach and bullet train, which saves you hours in travel time. Ascend to the Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station; ride on the Komagatake Ropeway, one of Japan’s highest aerial tramways; and take a cruise on Lake Ashi, part of Hakone National Park.
What to Expect
The day begins with a 2.5-hour coach journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mt. Fuji, recognizable by its iconic snow-capped peak. On arrival, you’ll ascend to Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station—located halfway up the mountain at 7,545 feet (2,300 meters)—and absorb unobstructed views of Mt. Fuji’s Five Lakes.
Following Fuji’s 5th Station, you’ll have time to purchase food, or, if you’ve upgraded, enjoy a traditional Japanese lunch (if you select the "+ Lunch" option at checkout). Then, head into Hakone National Park by coach and take a short sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi.
Your final stop is the summit of Mt. Komagatake, reachable by Komagatake Ropeway, one of Japan’s highest aerial tramways. During the ride, enjoy more spectacular views and take a stroll along a mountain trail at the top.
Return to Tokyo by bullet train.

...and funiculars too! I only had a week in Japan and had to almost exclusively spend it in Tokyo. This tour was just what I needed: a trek into rural Japan by coach bus, a ferry trip over a lake, a funicular up a mountain...More

We booked this as our first trip in Japan and it didn’t disappoint! We were there early March and the weather was actually quite nice, a little cold but very clear, we had great views of the mountain from the bus on the way and...More

We were lucky it was a good day with clear skies. Could see Mt Fuji very clearly from all sides and from a far distance. Only bad thing is that we only got to the 1st station which practically has nothing thanks to the icey...More

We honestly felt ripped off on this tour.

The day before this tour had been beautiful and the day of the tour was scheduled to be the same also, so we booked. But after many delays due to Sunrise Tours making a mistake with bus numbers etc, we were told that we would...More

Our tour guide was Japanese, but she spoke Chinese as well. I went on the tour, I am not part of the hosting company.
