I paid a lot of money for this flight only to sit in half of my seat. Due to the person next to me, I wasn’t even able to have my arm rest down. 8 hour flight couldn’t even use the toilet as the person next to me struggled to get out of their chair. I know this isn’t directly the airlines fault but something needs to be done with people who do not fit in one seat. I was really struggling with claustrophobia and the airline did nothing to help.

KLM is even not able to produce online boarding passes. Only travelling with hand luggage now waiting for More than 1 hour in the line to get my ... Boarding Pass.

If you have transfers, you have to calculate always delays for KLM. I had now a unexpected transfer time of 14 hours in Amsterdam because the second flight could not wait 5 minutes. I would never fly with KLM again.

When I arrived from Amsterdam on a Tuesday at Dulles, Washington (along with the 4 o'clock onslaught of international arrivals), my one checked bag did not arrive. I filled out a form, and the KLM baggage guy told me that the suitcase would be delivered the next day. It wasn't delivered on Wednesday or Thursday. He told me that they would update me with emails. They didn’t. On Friday I checked email and text. I phoned KLM and tried to communicate with the baggage delivery service. I got a runaround regarding my baggage. Besides KLM, a contractor called "Wheresmysuitcase.com" was supposed to be doing the delivery. A message from them said that my bag would be delivered at 4 am on Thursday. It wasn't. First their excuse was that I was not available for delivery. Their website showed a path to my house. Next the guy told me that they never had the bag and I needed to contact KLM. It seems that there was "Reference Code" confusion added to incompetence and jargon. I thought that I had found out that the bag was at Dulles (maybe it was actually still in Amsterdam). I spoke with a KLM Service Rep on Friday. She said that she would call Dulles to try to find the bag and call me back in an hour. She didn’t. I had tried to call a local number, but there is only an answering machine that tells you to go to the “Wheresmysuitcase” website where they want a "Reference Code” that KLM didn’t give me initially and doesn’t even locate the suitcase. Additionally, there were two of these Reference Codes. The bag was delivered to my house at 3 am on Saturday morning. They left it on the front porch in a light rain. It was in good condition and the tag had Friday’s date. Perhaps I was lucky that on the flight to Europe, the KLM flight was cancelled and I flew on Lufthansa. I got my luggage with a short transfer in Frankfurt to Milan. I was also lucky that KLM lost my suitcase on the way home and not on the way to a vacation as I read about in another KLM review. KLM employees were very professional and competent in person. The website and communication channels are abysmal. The food and comfort on the short flight from Sweden to Amsterdam was excellent as were the flight crew and food from Amsterdam to Washington. I do not plan to fly KLM again. Cancelled flights and lost luggage are a reality. How the company supports travelers makes a difference. KLM’s support was bad. Good manners and good food don’t compensate for an inadequate, poor approach to problems.
