Check-in was chaotic (new do-it-yourself bag drop and weigh system with impatient staff), disorganized boarding, cramped quarters, poor quality food, indifferent service from flight attendants, no instructions or help with a connecting flight (just made the door), my sister did not make the flight because they allowed her to board the WRONG plane with her boarding pass for our plane....

As a 5'1" adult female sitting on the aisle, it was ok. For my 6' husband not so much. Flying with kids, it's good to have individual screens to engage the flight. My grandchildren did talk for four peaceful hours.

3.5 hour flight took 6 hours. Seats were very tight and uncomfortable. Plane was delayed for departure at gate due to staff snafu. In-flight food was bad. Airline travel these days is pretty awful. American may not be worse than most.

average flight but packed to the gills and extremely warm - like they don't believe in A/C. Use to love American flights - finding more value with Southwest these days - free checked bags, not as full flights, etc.

Baggage check in was easy, no hassles. Flight to Dallas was comfortable in coach. Flight attendants friendly and helpful. Seat was comfortable as we sat in first row after First Class Seats. Smooth flight and on time. Second flight from Dallas to Seattle was more crowded and we had less leg room. Seats were just ok, felt more like packed...

We flew to Jackson Wyoming through Dallas on the 8th. There had been stormy weather and numerous delays. Especially the day prior. I thought the airline representatives were professional. It can't be easy dealing with perpetually angry passengers. We had delays returning from Jackson through Dallas...again, professionally handled. No airline can control the weather. If the weather is too rough...

A routine out and back to Cincinnati was "highlighted" by a flight attendant selling a new credit card. Which is dull and can be very annoying, except this one involves a $95 fee, only one purchase is required, and it comes with 60,000 AA miles, enough for a business class roundrip in the US or Caribbean. That made an otherwise basic...

Very, very uncomfortable flight. They have shrunk the size on the seat and the distance between seats so it is like being packed into a sardine can. In fact, the woman sitting next to me said being in a cage. Loaning process is so archaic with everyone carrying on bags and back packs swinging them down the aisle. The flight attendants...

AA boarded passengers at 2:20 in the afternoon on a 95-degree summer day before the pilot had even landed the plane he was flying to get to National airport. After about 25 minutes of increasingly hot and sitfling air, being told the pilot would arrive "soon," the flight attendant began passing out water and ice and asking about people's well-being,...

Honestly, my experience is that there really isn't a great airline any more in the USA. Since the US Airways merger with AA, AA has become just another discount airline. I am an executive Platinum and have flown 1.5 million miles on AA in my Life. Have about a million on Delta and maybe 100K on United. I Miss Braniff...
