We had our round trip flight to Iceland from Raleigh NC booked for months when I happened upon the terrible reviews in TripAdvisor. Scared me to death. So I was pleasantly surprised with both our trips that went off without delay and the service was great. Even the meals were good. The seats do not fully recline and there isn't a great choice of movies, but it was not a long flight.

Terrible service in the counters. Inside the aircraft is ok. For instance I bought two tickets but we were seated separately and the person in the counter did not fix this.

Our flight from MUC to KEF was delayed by weather. The connection time to our next flight to RDU was tight (45 minutes) to start. The delay - which was known by Icelandair - caused MANY passengers on our flight to miss their connections. We missed the RDU flight by approximately 10-15 minutes. I would have hoped that Icelandair could have delayed the RDU flight (and other flights) by 15-20 minutes to allow connecting passengers time to board, knowing in advance that we were slightly delayed. There were no available seats on any other flights to nearby US cities (Washington DC, Baltimore, or New York). We had to stay in Reykjavik overnight and take the next flight to RDU - which was at 4:45pm the following day. The transport of about 50 total displaced passengers who also missed connections was very disorganized. We waited for over an hour for an Icelandair representative to even approach the large group of passengers and communicate the plan for transporting us to hotels. We had to wait for about 2.5 hours for a bus to take us to our hotel in Reykjavik because the original transport was only large enough for 20 passengers. The rest of us had to wait for more buses to be sent. Icelandair totally dropped the ball on transport arrangements and communication. KEF airport is extremely busy now with Icelandair seemingly expanding flight offerings faster than the KEF airport can accommodate. There is nowhere to sit (they don’t have traditional gate seating areas like 99% of other airports) and there are VERY limited bathroom facilities (1 central bathroom area for the whole of Terminal D). US arrivals and departures require taking buses to the planes, which is very cumbersome and time consuming. Icelandair is typically much less expensive compared to other airlines for US-to-Europe flights. However, given the limited options for alternative flights - with only Icelandair and Play as the available airlines at KEF - and the very tight connection timelines, there are serious disadvantages to using Icelandair when traveling to Europe. I will probably not consider Icelandair again in the future.

My biggest issue is that after over a month after my trip ended I’m getting Fraudulent Charges on my credit card. Returned home June 13, it’s now July 22, 2024 and I’m just now seeing these. Contacted Iceland Air, provided my flight information and they had no record of the charges but it’s clearly showing up on my card as Iceland Air.

Flying from milano Malpensa to Seattle the 19th of July. They have lost my bag and customer service is providing no answer or updates. After 2 days they don’t have a clue where the bag actually is. I find the situation unacceptable. They are completely unprofessional. Holidays ruined. Last time with Iceland air
